  1. Wow!! So many beautiful pics. Just a flower from me.
  2. Dangle, I love what you have done with those. My favourite is definitely the steam train and the dining cart.
  3. Great thread Dangle Just a fun pic from today. Camera : Nikon D5100 ISO : 400 Exposure time : 1/60 sec F-Stop : f/5.00 Focal Length : 36.00mm edited with PS Elements 9
  4. I probably was but still happy with my purchase. http://www.polarusa.com/us-en/products/accessories/WearLink_Connector_Battery_Set
  5. Hi there, Did you also have the battery tested/replaced in the HR Sensor? Mine also started giving me grief and by pure luck I was at Sportmans Warehouse and they said they would test my HR sensor and I found out the battery was flat, flat - they changed it there and then for me and it cost R60.00 and has been working fine since then. Thinking I need to have the polar watch battery replaced soon - how much of a mission is that as the sensor one was a breeze. Michelle
  6. It was more about getting Harry (Harry thread over in Chit Chat)to the race. Decided at the last minute to enter the 20km Haven't ridden since 94.7 - was a nice way to get to know my bike again
  7. A huge BIG thank you to all the marshalls and fabulous people who gave their all for the 20km. Potholes were nicely marked, marshalls were FANTASTIC and supportive. I thoroughly enjoyed myself on this very short route Michelle
  8. Frosty, do you perhaps know anything about the 20km route? edited to add: Found the route...cannot complain - it's flat Michelle
  9. The best advisory would have been Advisory Boards along the route. When I see Advisory Boards along roads informing of partial road closures or full road closures, I tend to plan my day around it and avoid the area at all costs. Advertising purely in the papers and various radio stations is NOT good enough!!

  11. Cannot just blame the Johannesburg drivers, in all fairness were they PROPERLY informed of what would be happening and where and when. Unless you have friends involved in cycling or are keen on the sport yourself it stands to reason that the average Joe/Jane did not know this was happening today.
  12. Well, we're probably on the map now - just not in a good way.
  13. Anyone know what is happening? I was about to head out to Fourways - seems pointless now.
  14. That's strange - as I chat to Gavin often and membership is R50,00 per person. Which reminds me, I better get my forms into him. :-) Michelle
  15. Glad you're back home safe. Was worried when all the horror stories started doing the rounds. I agree with you - you guys put a lot of time, money and effort into the Sport - you definitely deserve more than you got out of this event. Mich
  16. Slow One I used this link posted earlier by someone. Have a look there, no having to wait for 'pings' :-) http://seeding.cycletour.co.za/ Michelle
  17. Got seeded in RR - pity I cannot do it this year **sob** Michelle
  18. That is brilliant news. He's a great guy. Just waiting for pay day and hubby and I will be officially signed up. Forms are ready and waiting. What can I say but it's been a hectic month with back to school and school fees
  19. Congrats
  20. Thanks for sharing. Potholes are really bad in the Carlswald / Crowthorne area. Maybe they'll be able to sort them out.
  21. Probably is but I'm going to give Gavin a chance. Bit more effort needed but I'm all in for someone who is trying to help out the average cyclist. ROAG is also great - I just like the fact that Gavin is based in Gauteng and the fact that he did a superb job on building my bike
  22. Hi BigS, Gavin emailed me the application forms yesterday. Not sure if his website is up and running yet. I can forward them onto you and you can email them back to him. Just pm me your email addy. Mich
  23. Hi everyone, Just a heads up that Gavin Kilpatrick (aka as Spartikus on the hub) has started a cycling club - Cyclelink CC. Cost is also R50.00 - hubby and I are going to be signing up with Gavin. Mich
