  1. you sure he sees beyond the fat? I'm sure he does out of necessity, but when his fine young 24yr old Demi Moorelookalike secretary walsk past I'm pretty sure he's fantasises about you when you where thinner. People owe it to their partners to offer the best they can, that means themelves phyically and emotionally. Getting Fat is just plain disrespect. you know you want me....

  4. Happy Martin - thanks for Marshalling. Being more of a fun rider I enjoy greeting and thanking the marshalls for the work they do as I ride past. It is sad to hear of your experiences. As a cyclist in yesterdays race I had the scare of my life at the 50km turn around when I was told it was safe to go by one person and then another let a car through. Luckily I was keeping a beady eye on the traffic and was slow enough to stop safely and unclip. But for the rest of the race I was tense and my shoulders are 'eina' this morning. At least the marshall apologised and yelled something at the other one to be more careful. Didn't stop me from greeting and thanking. I must say the motorists in the area are scary - especially at the busy intersections who were apparently happy to throw and yell abuse at everyone. In all honesty I'm now hesitant to ride any races on the East Rand because of this. And as for the fun riders on Mountain bikes who felt they were out for a social and chat and taking over the whole left lane - not giving a hoot about vehicles or faster bunches - SHAME on you!!! 5. I enjoyed my race - didn't finish as quick as I had hoped but finished none the less. At the 50km turn point - sleepy marshalls or marshalls who couldn't communicate with one another nearly got me hit by car - luckily I was going slow and could stop and unclip as the car came through.
  6. Good luck Michelle So I guess 'L' stands for Long and 'M' stands for Medium (hi-tech this!) - I suppose' date=' therefore, that you're at the front of the 50km and, indeed, G is the end (or almost) of the 'Long Course'[/quote'] Thanks and good luck to you too Not braving the Long one this time - 'saving' myself (if you could call it that) for Carnival City Long one, so will stick the Medium / short route this time.
  7. Starting in AM (07:01) for the 50km but dropping back to CM (07:06) to ride with a friend.
  8. 9 and 1/2 years ago my son was born 10 weeks prem. Prior to that I lay in hospital for 8 weeks. The total bill between hospital/Dr's etc was R275 000.00 The medical aid then paid everything. We didn't pay a cent. These days I doubt that would happen. Touch wood - this year not one of us have stepped a foot into a Dr's room besides the Dentist. Crossing fingers we can stay this healthy.
  9. Haven't received anything yet either.
  10. That sucks!! Crossing fingers for you Kansas that you find something soon.
  11. I'm having great success with Weighless - seems to work well with cycling. Now since 94.7 I've lost focus...NEED to find focus and stick to the plan 100%... - hoping to lose 10kg's by the Fast One.
  12. Beautiful!! Hope the wallet recovers soon.
  13. So you mean it was like a regular day riding in the Cradle then? something like that..... When I eventually found the toilets on the other side, I think I was the happiest girl on the planet.
  14. We arrived thankfully with loads of time to spare. By the time we had breakfast and got everything ready we joined to queue to get over that bridge - it was going no where fast (sort of like bad peak hour traffic). We were informed by an official of a detour - it was long but we got to the start in plenty of time (took us about an hour to get to the start). My biggest gripe - what happened to the supposed toilets in the designated parking areas. Definitely none on that side that I could see unless it was the local bush / tree.
  15. Well it's lunchtime and that bottle of chutney would have come in very handy now seeing as we're out of the stuff.
