Ek dink 'n bietjie fisio is my voorland. Hopelik is ek gou weer terug in die saal.
  2. Thanks for all the inputs so far. I am not even back on my bicycle after my knee operation, and I am already thinking of upgrading my bike! I cannot bend my knee sufficiently enough to get on a bike. My wife thinks I am crazy.
  3. Steynja, check with your LBS what an Ultegra gruppo will cost. According to CWC their price is R5200 which is only R500 more than 105. How much of a difference is there between the 105 and Ultegra? Will it be easily noticeable?
  4. I am planning to upgrade the groupset on my Silverback Monterey from a mix-n-match groupset to a full Shimano 105 10 speed. I was quoted by my LBS a price of R4600 fitted. Is that a fair price? I must add that it excludes the hubs, because I am keeping the Shimano WH-R550 wheels. The mix-n-match groupset consists of a Tiagra front and rear derrailleurs and STI's, Suntour crank and Tekra brakes.

  6. The temperature, wind speed etc. gets automatically added by Motionbased when you upload your info onto the database.
  7. Can the Edge 305 do all this? Yes, it can. Here is my info generated by the Edge 305 for this years Argus with the HR info displayed as well.
  8. I see that GARMIN has released a new HR monitor that can be used for running and cycling. You can also attach an optional cadence meter as well. Have a look over here: http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/fr50/
  9. For more information, here is a link to a "YouTube" video explaining the vest.
  10. How about something like this : http://www.night-gear.com/-strse-228/LED-Cyclist-Vest-by/Detail.bok Ideal for runners and cyclists. Or this: http://www.trailkit.com/pages/products.html. I have tried to Google a local site, but have not had any luck......Yet! steynja2007-08-05 02:55:31
  11. The Forerunner305 takes the same cadence sensor as the Edge305 Accessories for the Forerunner 305http://www.garmin.co.za/images/accessories/thumbnails/010-10644-00.jpg GSC 10 Speed/Cadence sensor 010-10644-00A bit of topic, but I notice that this post is no. 100 for me! steynja2007-07-25 15:40:04
  12. Ewep, I will tell him to contact Christo tomorrow morning. Thanks for the help. BTW, I see this post will be number 99 for me. What happens on 100?
  13. Thanks for all the quick responses. I presume it would be something like this? Link to website: http://hanlerproducts.co.za/Products1.asp#ACC
  14. Hi all, A colleague of mine asked me today, "because you are a cyclist and might know", that apparently you get an adapter to put on a ladies bike or a bike with a fairly sloping top tube in order to make it horizontal so that you can transport it using a bike caddy. Have any of you seen such an item, because I certianly have not, but he insits that he has seen such an adapter. I do apologise for my poor description, but it is the best I can do for now.
  15. As I said previously, I have the Edge 305 and love it to bits. But, being a delicate piece of electronic equipment, things do go wrong from time to time. The first place that I would go for help, tips and tricks is here: http://forums.motionbased.com/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=5506eddfcaf3ef4945348f64ab229a57&board=55.0 There is a wealth of information available, and the forum members are quick to respond, just as on our own HUB!
  16. Yes, I have the full package HR and cadence. Works like a charm. Another pluspoint is that you can change the HR monitor battery yourself. It uses a standard 2032 battery available at Game for ?R10.00. since I got it I did the Argus, 94.7, OFM, Cansa Lost City, Campus to Campus and numerous local races with it. No problems with it so far.
  17. Quite correct! For those at work, you can get the daily question here: http://www.supersport.co.za/default.asp?id=231&des=feature steynja2007-07-12 08:02:28
  18. What is the role of Christian Prudhomme?
  19. On News24.com http://www.news24.com/News24/Sport/Tour_de_France/0,,2-9-1506_2144186,00.html An interesting article about the unsung heroes, the mechanics, on the TDF. I think Robbie McEwen will have a problem if this part is true: "Usually the tyres are (pumped up to) nine psi (pounds per square inch), but when we know it's going to be wet we take them down to eight and a half." 9PSI is about 0.62BAR!!!!
  20. Thanks for the info! I do have the latest Bicycling mag, but have not yet gotten to the part about the TDF. I will go and read it tonite. (BTW, I see bicycling published my letter this month! Did not win the Merida MTB though I really need a new bike to get to work and back.) steynja2007-07-04 12:57:09
  21. Where can I get a rundown of the bikes the different teams are riding with in the TDF this year? I want to confirm a few bikes, because for instance, I thought Team Liquigas rides with Bianchi but it seems they are on Cannondale this year.
