Ok so you need to not only put slicks but also get toobs to go into these slicks . This means you gonna waist a lot of the precious sealant you currently got in your tyres . You see it all does add up and in the end you may find that it's gonna cost you maybe two cases of beer !!! Not something to sneeze at ! . I agree , take you backpack/camelpack . Even if it is empty just wear it for the look .

Groenkloof is also good for a buggy . Obviously you will not follow the normal routers but stick to the bigger roads . You can easily get 15km riding in and also see most of the animals . Go out the normal way but don't turn up the little tar climb , go straight and follow road .

Skip the slicks , it is a waist of money . Enjoy the race , stop at all the tables and stock up . 6 hours is nothing if you have a jol

Go and look at results from previous years , people in NN batch missed sub 3 with a few seconds !!

There is a way to remove it and once you got the hang of it , its very easy . It involves a long nose plier , bend the chain 90d at the link and use plier on outside of chain !!!

A5 is the MTB seeding ! Got no idea what it means !!

You know I dont' have a road bike !!!! I am doing it on the SS but I would have thought a previous sub 3 would at least get me into the Z group !

Should I complain about my seeding ? Did a sub 3 hours the first time I did this race a few years ago . I got people here that have never done a cycle race seeded in FF and better .

Not true Lefty but I am not going to get involved in this as it is a very sensitive issue and also very emotional . All our vehicles got drivecam installed but that does not stop accidents from happening .

There are really a lot . I also did a 3 day stage race a few years ago that was in the Magalies monster area , think it was called Magalies Quest and this was also a nice race .
