  1. Woke up with a sore throat this morning.
  2. Javi cut off is at 17h30. Which means they expect 99% of the field to be finished by then. Stops is as long as you want it to be. The tag points takes a few seconds. I really doubt that you will need lights.
  3. As this event is on my doorstep, this is a given to me.
  4. Also battled with this the first time. The 100miler is a circle route of 160km The 50miler is the last 80km of that route. This gives you logistical problems as now you need to start at point b and end at point a. The last 80lm is not technical at all. Just need to pace yourself for the climb you will get at 60km.
  5. You are lucky. I gave up on my Attakwas results. After several emails an phonecalls it still not reflecting.
  6. Mine is doing exactly that........ the bubble on the top cap. It can be at the most 4 months old. Not really in my budget to buy new tyres again.
  7. I will try and do what I would like them to do when I get a new bike. But in all honesty I really, honestly get a thrill when someone gets a new bike and it is a major upgrade. I had that feeling before and get so excited for their sake.
  8. Did the Transkaroo as part of my preperation. Now some say it will be easier and some say I have not seen nothing yet.
  9. Why dont you give your own opinion instead of attacking others opinions? I think you misunderstood the question.
  10. Too congested races. ie Burger and Argus. Especially the mtb. Route descriptions which describes declines of more than 17% Route descriptions with words like ..very techinical decents, loose rocky decents and only very experienced riders should attempt this. and then if futher uncertain, I google for racereports of previous years. Rain. On the day or the days before the race. Not because I will melt, but the potential damage to my bike.
  11. Was my first and although Ouberg was n killer, I actually enjoyed the race. Might have paced myself to concervative, but rather to liitle than to much. But lesson learned for next time....
  12. To me it is unthinkable to stop at 180km, I spoke with someone on Ouberg who decided to withdraw. But I guess it is better to listen to your body than to make stupid decisions. There is always next year.
  13. Thank you eitan, but for you someone like you this should be a walk in the park...... I mean ... how many Epics have you done?
  14. Change that : My first Argus was worse. I could hardly walk. So in a few years this too will be easy.
  15. I cannot remember feeling like that ever. And to be honest I am not sure that I will be able to climb Ouberg ever . Not even with only 10km in my leggs. I notice Strava rates it as a Cat 1 climb. Hectic!!! Total off topic: Just to show how flawed Strava at times is . Untill another lady upload her route, I am the Queen of that Mountain. And to be very honest I walked about 80%.
  16. This is an awesome event. It was my first Ultra endurance event, but I was stunned in the quality of the support by the organisers. From about 16h00 I saw the first one, but from there onwards was past regularly by event vehicles and ambulances busy checking up on all the participants and at that stages even checking whether the riders had enough fluids with them although the water points was really stocked and the meals was good. Very well organised and an awesome event. Thank you to all that was involved. One could see that you went that extra mile.
  17. Can anyone point me in the direction of the results please?
Teoreties in elk geval. So moet ek dan warmer aantrek as normaal?
  19. I think it makes more sense to have the last Box after Ouberg. In my absolute Noob opinion.
  20. Supporters may meet riders at CP1 and CP3 And boxes will be delivered to CP 2 and CP4 On the website is was stated different And there will only be water at the point at the base of Ouberg pass.
  21. Sal maar my opinie moet verander oor die Tafelkop waaroor jy so praat. Lyk nogal hoog daar van bo af.
  22. Weet dit is nog baie vroeg en is mos nie die Weatherfairy nie, maar Ai Ai Ai Sutherland se weervoorspelling vir Saterdag.
  23. I feel your pain........ I eventually found it here. http://www.alltheevents.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Trans-Karoo-2013-Results-1.pdf
  24. Ha ha wrong person to ask. I came almost last. Not my type of riding. Although I would enjoy the route, but at my pace . I get nervous with someone behind me on the singletrack and end up giving track to the whole field. Leaving me last. Everyone else I spoke to after the ride enjoyed it . Most of them remarked that if the last part was not flat they would not have made it. Lots of singletrack and climbing which makes up for a nice challenge. This is the second year I attempted the long route and the parts that was left out this year did not really make a big difference . Well .... for someone like me it was nice as I could take a breather and make up for lost time on that parts that was left out. ( If I remember correctly it was a climb though the vineyards and the gravel road at the end was def longer).
