  1. I think it makes more sense to have the last Box after Ouberg. In my absolute Noob opinion.
  2. Supporters may meet riders at CP1 and CP3 And boxes will be delivered to CP 2 and CP4 On the website is was stated different And there will only be water at the point at the base of Ouberg pass.
  3. Sal maar my opinie moet verander oor die Tafelkop waaroor jy so praat. Lyk nogal hoog daar van bo af.
  4. Weet dit is nog baie vroeg en is mos nie die Weatherfairy nie, maar Ai Ai Ai Sutherland se weervoorspelling vir Saterdag.
  5. I feel your pain........ I eventually found it here. http://www.alltheevents.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Trans-Karoo-2013-Results-1.pdf
  6. Ha ha wrong person to ask. I came almost last. Not my type of riding. Although I would enjoy the route, but at my pace . I get nervous with someone behind me on the singletrack and end up giving track to the whole field. Leaving me last. Everyone else I spoke to after the ride enjoyed it . Most of them remarked that if the last part was not flat they would not have made it. Lots of singletrack and climbing which makes up for a nice challenge. This is the second year I attempted the long route and the parts that was left out this year did not really make a big difference . Well .... for someone like me it was nice as I could take a breather and make up for lost time on that parts that was left out. ( If I remember correctly it was a climb though the vineyards and the gravel road at the end was def longer).
  7. The name that BrandonF was refering to was not Nicol Carstens. At that time I actually went to check on Racetec. It was a rider with only one result and that being the Breede rivier callenge and he came 2nd. I know of Nicol Carstens and would have recognised his name. His name ( the unknown rider) is removed now, putting Timo 2nd and Nicol 3rd
  8. 100 miler is on my doorstep. So there is no choice for me.
  9. You can ride the 60 and then go over to Franschoek and ride at the dam and Matoppie Nice views, nice climbs and singletrack .
  10. I entered the ride as a solo rider. Is it possible to do this without any backup? In other words... just with the transitions boxes?. If I put something in the transition box do I have to take it at the checkpoint or can I pick it up at the end? You also seem to get 2 transition boxes. Is there a possibility of more boxes - but at an addisional cost?

  12. Die dat ek heel agter is . Ek het die heeltyd gesoek vir die paar mooi bene waarmee hy so gespog het, maar ek sien nou julle het heelvoor gery....... die dat ek dit nie kon kry nie.
  13. There is no way that someone could do it unintently. The distance signs there was almost as tall as me.
  14. I think I lost my title . This year I am def last. Not my cup of tea. I just wish I can remember this next year BEFORE the race and not DURING the race when everything comes back like a nightmare. It not my fitnes or my abilty to climb it is just not my type of race. ... and today I made peace with that. Last weekend we did a 110km ride with a 1500m climb. This weekend I pushed my bike (I dont push my bike) on 22km .....shattered with nothing in my leggs.
  15. That is what is so nice about a MTB race. I normally starts a bit later.
  16. Smoking something at the momement?? Good point though.
  17. This is the reason I want to ride the steep hills. A few weeks ago I rode a section with a 22% gradient, followed by a section which had a 9% gradient. And I remember thinking - looking down on the Garmin - Great! it is only 9% now! Steep hills... I mean really steep hils ... changes ones perspective of steep........ And that changes a lot .
  18. Eish that is a lot of miles. !! Edit : in the rounds of 200kms You want to do the Trans Boland next?
  19. Just because I am curious? On your way to where ?
  20. An absolute awesome ride!! Used to ride it often when I stayed in Paarl. The first bit is steep but it eventually turns into an awesome, supersmooth ride as you go higher. Going down to Wellington there is some deep "grooves" in the tarr. Which does not make it a nice ride down ---especially with a road bike.
  21. Go with muscle memory. As hulle eers hulle geheue herwin het sal jy fine wees........ Maar as backup kan jy saam met my die Coke stands oppak
  22. Hoo haaa Hookaai daar!!! 2nd LAST you missed a small word there. But yes still lots of positions to fill.
  23. You will be fine. I might enter too. And I was 2nd last last year. Got a score to settle........
