  1. Me..........Training ride. EDIT: Well you know how it is..... until I think I can make some of other target ...then the training ride idea is out the window. I will decide after Botmaskloof.
  2. In my opinion is has a lot to do with a combination of the shape of your face and the type or style of sunglasses. I had a pair that did not work for me. It sometimes felt as if it suffocates me. Steam built up ect ect. Bought a different pair .............. and I dont know of them. I sometimes have to check whether the still on my face. The shape of second pair is different and I think it just suits my face better and therefore leaves spaces for the air to flow where it should. And I always clean it properly before a ride.
  3. Mud is actually greasy. So secret is in dissolving the fat and the stains with it. Rub with Sunlight liquid (of die groen seep) and then wash as normal.
  4. Why dont you try posting something on paarlmtb 's website. www.paarlmtb.com
  5. Ha ha dont make the mistake to think I can race with the others. I can hardly keep up on the easy training rides.
  6. Me too. This was home ground until a few weeks ago. Not that it will help.
  7. Where I am staying now. It will be me, myself and I going for a groupride. Going to be a long, long ride. ........ I get so bored with the other two. They talk a lot of nonsens.
  8. Have to agree. That stringy thing is ugly. It reminds of the equipment they used to read the stars to navigate in the 1800"s
  9. Try the angle of increased bloodflow to the brain = increased oxiogen = increased concentration. Or wait ...... I have a better one: PARIS (AFP) -- Regular exercise boosts teenagers' school grades -- and particularly helps girls in science, a British study said Tuesday. The more physically active they were, the better children performed in school, according to findings published online in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. And "girls' science results seemed to benefit the most," said a press statement. Read more: http://www.ctvnews.c...3#ixzz2iTaaXihE
  10. From the PPA website: PPA One Tonner 2013 By PedalPower on 21 October 2013 Congratulations to everyone who braved the terrible wind on Sunday – we salute you. Some interesting stats: Of the just over 1800 entrants, 1294 (wearing transponders) arrived on the day, with 1260 riders making it to the checkpoint just outside Malmesbury. Of these, 1115 completed the event, with the wind proving to be too much for the remainder. Check out our Facebook page later for some pics of the event.
  11. All of those finish times and ave is both amazing and unthinkable for a mere mortal like me. Esp in todays wind.
  12. Ha ha Thank you Frail, but l am one of those stubborn l-wanna-do-it-myself people.
  13. Saw you on your way home. we were at 160 mark. Respect!
  14. Was going to do the ride alone. Luckely one of Wannabee DC teams took me under their protective wing. With their help and me focussing on eating and drinking right l felt strong up to the point where we turned left at 161km. Really battled with that last 2km. . But finished.
  15. l am also in M. Would love some company. Not sure if l am strong enough
  16. Jip l pinpointed my occasional cramps to too little fluids
  17. BTW Vetseun, what was the verdict on your hip?
  18. Pity it is so far....... I like doing boring stuff on computors and spreadsheets and to combine that with my other like ( cycling ) that must be absolutely awsome.
  19. To be honest I lack distance at the moment. So in my mind on a perfect day with no wind I think I would just have made it. .... With wind ...... Not so sure. But I cant get myself to NOT go and try..... Edit : Don't know the rules but it going to be blood, sweat and tears.....
  20. Hope there is nothing more serious than the scratches and bruises. Had one of those hip things. That means off your bike time .........
  21. I don't care. I promised myself after the training ride if the wind is going to blow like that again on raceday, I am staying in bed. Any other day... yes, but not that day.
  22. Ai. Cant find anything. :-(
