  9. Rode Babas 70km on Sunday, Bonked like I have never before in my life!!!! Had a very easy week training with just a gym session on Monday and a 45 min Spin session on the Thursday. Carbo loaded from Thursday. First 30 km was terrible, had no legs or energy. then finally came right for a while but then bonked hard last 10km. I had an energy bar just before the start, could this have caused my glocose (or what ever) levels to go all over?? Did I do too little during the week?
  10. hahaha very true, I was once told that Specialized comes out of the Merida factory and made the mistake of mentioning this to a Specilized salesman .....you would have thought I called his mother fat by the way he reacted!!!!

  13. I am going over to the UK for a week and am very keen on bying a bike over there and brining it back with me. Have any of you ever travelled overseas with a bike? cant seem to find prices on the BA website

  16. funny, i had the same issue with them and gears! took bike in for for its free service and to get the shocks sorted (New bike) when I phoned to check up on progress I was told the Agent for the shocks was comming to have a look and bring the necesary spares....bike back, gears not been touched and shocks stil not right. Took it to another shop who is now my LBS, while I was there they contacted the agent for the shocks to check for spares and were told no spares were in the country and infact they had not had spares for a few week prior!! so I would love to know where these magic spares came from that cycle lab used. Took a riding buddy to the shop just after having got my bike from them and he picks out a bike, with NO help from a very arrogant sales guy, this guy orders his size and says he will call him when it arrives, a week goes past no bike, no phone call, I go in and ask about it, "it coming from cape town, will be a few days" this is now almost 2 weeks later.......that was in Jan...bike must be still coming from Cape Town as no call, riding buddy got a new bike from another shop now and we both use this shop every weekend. that is just my experience with them, you may have had better but in our group of riders, about 15 in total, not one will ever use them or recomend themmark ellis2010-03-09 07:41:22
  17. Morning hubbers, thinking about getting a Epic Carbon comp. Got a few questions for the experienced guys. I tip the scales at about 95kgs. was 107 in december and am stil loosing. Do you think I would be too big for a carban mtb frame? Other option is to get the Marathon frame and build a bike up. I ride marathons and stage races when I can. Is there anything I should keep in mind when purchasing a carbon bike? shotmark ellis2010-03-09 04:02:26

  20. terrible, thoughts and prayers to all involved, been thinking about getting back on a road bike but think ill stick to the MTB
  21. some parts are not marked well, we followed the green route and at one stage the trail split in three directions, we took one that went up a decent little climb, but when you look back down the climb there were direction arrows for people coming down the same climb also marked in green, so we then though we had gone the wrong way. great riding though, really enjoyed the foest sections
  22. We rode at Reitvlei today for the first time, got some awesome trails there. problem was the marking?? there seem to be different trails everywhere, some market some not, then guys were coming in opposite directions as well, when we asked if we were going the wrong way we were told there is no set direction. but markings are pointing one way. We would really like to ride here more often but would need somebody to show us some routes, we played around for a few hours but would like to be shown around, and hopefully miss the freaking mud section!! do any of you ride there often and be willing to show us around a bit??
