  1. oh please! its like most other Bicycle shop in this country, your big mate while you spending money and they receiving, as soon as the wheel turns the story changes. As far as I am concerned the service given by 90% of cycle shops in this country is a joke! some of the most arrogant people I have even met in my life are cycle shop owners and works, and I work with High end bankers and traders every day of my life, beleive me I know what arrogant people look like! For the shop to turn around and just dismiss it with a "sorry its not our problem" attitude enough for me to make a decission about them.
  2. I wonder if we will be hit the normal 40% duties on these
  3. ok thanks guys, i ride a medium so gues i will stick with 175
  4. how do you know what crank lengths to ride? looking at ordeing a new groupset and not sure if I should be getting 170 or 175?
  5. everybody had a different answer to this, most will throw 1.8 to 2 bars at you. I weight 95 kgs and when running these preasures found it to be too soft. so I run slightly higher and all good now. It does take a little getting used to not having your tires as hard as possible but once you have riden a while it feels normal.
  6. i have never ridden here but always hear good things. Is it well enough marked to ride here without somebody who know the route? I see you can get maps at the gate, are these sufficient?
  7. dam, we need a good conspiracy to make things interesting on here again
  8. Alu, Im a bit heavy for Carbon i think 95kgs, also got a picture of cracked mtb's in my mind i cant remove!

  11. bars i must admit do worry me, the thing about cabon is it snaps and does not bend. I would rather feel a bit of bending going on before biting the earth than to just land on my pip!
  12. very nice dude!! very nice indeed
  13. we get to have 40 000 screaming idiots blowing plastic horns all hours of the night.....
  14. thanks guys
  15. who JB? sounds like the type of wheels my athletic figure needs
  16. in the process of putting the final bits together for a new build, got some?? with wheels Looking to spend about 5-6K all in, without tires I weigh about 94kg's. Is there a particular type of spoke layout i should avaid being a heavier rider? Was looking at Fulcrum Red metal 5 but not sure if they have a weight limit? what wheels would you suggest? mark ellis2010-06-09 05:12:34
  17. 96 is a pure race bike, stiff racing geom with limited travel. aimed at the marathon and xc rider 120 more for your trail/free rider, more comfy but will climb like the 96 what type of riding you into?
  18. wow! that must have been terrible, good you ok, well appart from the fall. very sad they going to these lengths now for bikes hey. I see by your signature that you know who had your back.
  19. just to be clear, i am in no way knocking the unbranded frames, asked on here a few month back about them and appart from one joker the people that have them are more than happy, I myself have a demo comming over (for the last 6 weeks!) I think if it can be done properly can take a big share in our market, seems like timing of stock is the biggest issue right now. EVO any links to the MX foam?
  20. yip very true, and this has been talked about in lenght on here, carbon is carbon, different grades etc, its the way they make the frames that differs. end of the day if I buy a carbon frame and I think im getting a scott, Im happy to pay scott prices. If I am paying scott prices for a bike that says "scott" but was made and landed in the country for 4 grand I am not going to be happy.
  21. Guys just a friendly warning: Look carefully when buying Carbon Frames and bikes. A lot of non-branded carbon frames have found there way to our shores and many are being branded as high end frames. I know most on here would spot them fast, I have just seen a great example on Gumtree being sold as a Karbona but when comparing to the Karbona site and looking at the catalogs I was sent from the east I found it in one. I had been questioning the dude about the frame and when I challenged him about my findings earlier today the add was pulled. There was a case a while back on here of a "specialized" sworks being sold which was quickly shot down as an unbranded frame, finally getting the seller to admit. Was chatting to a chap at Teak sports a few weekes back who over te moon with his Carbon trek he had got for a bargain.....never had ther heart to tell him or show him his frame on my laptop that I could have got from the East fro about 4K As said many time by wise hubbers.....if it looks to good to be true....it normally is!
  22. so we can stop looking?
  23. what makes me laugh in these situations is that they always try desperately to contact you yet you never have a missed call or email from them??? what were they sending desperate smoke signals??? Was in same situation a few weeks back, asked the guy what number they were trying to get me one and after a long silence....oh...sorry sir the number has been removed now?? WTF
  24. Not really that much longer and you would have to use lipo batteries. Besides' date=' with the diameter of the actual unit being thicker than the bike's actual seat tube, is enough reason for me to find this a joke.[/quote'] A brushless motor runs conciderable longer and faster than a regular brushed motor on lipo. I raced RC cars when living in the States and you cannot compare the two
  25. I have just ordered this after being told about it from somebody on here Zinn & the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance
