  1. Entered Just love that area, so really looking forward to it.
  2. Like the sound of this one!
  3. Did the mini 13km this year with three young boys who live on our family farm, a sort of project to introduce them to mountain biking, get them outdoors, bit of development etc. The kids LOVED the race. It was their first ever one (hence joining them) and they couldn’t believe they got chocolates at the water table and coke PLUS a medal at the end and to top it all, a jumping castle awaited them. It was an eye opener seeing it from their perspective, how easily we take the small things for granted. Thanks to the Laubschers of Altona and the organizers for this event! Next year Im back (on my longer distance again) Massive thanks to the gents who helped my one rider and I with his technical in the first few kilometers of the race, much appreciated
  4. Iv received no confirmation of mine or my mtb kids (upliftment project) entries. What time does the 50km and 13km start?

  11. So bummed I had to make the decision to sub my entry On too much medication for flu and lung issues, so too high risk. Enjoy it on my behalf, I will be sulking in front of RedBull TV (Albstadt)
  12. Haha, size 6 That price of £58 was the special price. Last time I checked, the mens version retailed for over R5k in SA. So Im pretty pleased with my bargain, even with import tax&VAT.
  13. Scott MTB RC Shoezies ????Got them for £58! Plus import & tax, still insane bargain...pic below
  14. Entered & looking forward to it!
  15. Will route info be available soon? I find nothing on the webpage. The route will determine the distance I enter for.
  16. Beautiful Philadelphia hills & vineyards ride
  17. Its impossible for me to now collect my race number tomorrow, Friday or Saturday (work till 5pm down the West Coast and have an orienteering event Saturday at iKwhaTtu at 11 )... If anyone who lives in Melkbos/Blouberg/Durbanville is getting their number and can maybe collect on my behalf- please DM me. I can then collect Saturday after my orienteering event.
  18. Awesome ride out at the YouGoGirl PPA race, on Anura/Neil Joubert wine farms. Fabulous ride, great organization.
  19. I saw you snazzy, pro-looking guys revving to go at the start line! Quite new to mtbing, so nice to put the hubber names to faces!
  20. If you live in the Northern provinces, you can get an ASA number for races etc with Discovery Health. Down in WP, they arent linked with WPA yet, so in that case you need to get temp numbers for every race. I dont do much road, 99% trail, for which you don't need an ASA nr (yet...) - so Club Vitality works great for me. Discounts on selected races, free club kit and extra points in the bag. All of that said, you should be able to do 99% of races with a temp number. I used to. Unless things have changed or is different in the North.
  21. Anyone out there mtb'ing in Melkbos area? Looking for a partner - Koeberg after work in the week and Tygerberg trails/iKwaTtu/Wolwefontein etc over weekends. Someone dedicated. My ave speed in Koeberg full route is currently ave 21km/hr - 22km/hr. Need a partner to push me a little and to make rides safer and have some fun. Solo rides are too mental.
  22. Looking forward!
  23. Loved this race!!!
  24. Another newbie here. Been running trail for many years, then last year had to get surgery for bilateral compartment syndrome. I was out of running for three months. The surgeon suggested cycling for rehabilitation, so I bought my first Giant, entry level. After 6 months, I upgraded yesterday to a second hand Specialized Camber...This sport really is addictive. Looking forward to many more trails to come.
