  1. I've got a pair of Ciovita Corsa 1.0, these are my long ride (3 hours or more) and race bibs. I prefer them to the Vye. To me, the Ciovita on special is a better buy. At normal prices the Vye is better.
  2. is the bib hand washed or machine washed ?
  3. My feedback on the mirage is slightly different. Bought mine september 2020. Gets used between 2 and 5 times a week. General care is straight into the shower with me after the ride, rinse off with some shower soap and then left in the bathroom to dry. Yes the silicone strip came off the legs within a few months, however the legs have not started to curl on mine and stay in place rather nicely. Chamois, whilst it has lost a little of its thickness is still very close to how it was after it softened up 3 - 4 uses in. Spandex still seems good and I actually got the wife to check "see throughness" the other day and can report its still good. This is all for road use But I think we need more info from ML as to his usage as it may be a little more extreme than mine
  4. you battery or the bikes I think he said he was limited to somewhere in the 20s
  5. A few weeks back I caught a small group early in my ride, at that stage they were doing mid 20's km/h. Dude at the back was on a Spez e MTB of sorts. We hit a decline and the groups speed went up into the mid 30's, dude on the e-Bike dropped off the back of them. Since I was trying to do a zone 2 ride I had let them go, I soon caught him and had a chat, says he struggles on the flats and downs to keep up, on the hills he pulls them up. Then on Sunday I dropped my bike off with the transport guy to take it to cape town, he was busy picking up an e-mtb to put it on the trailer. Had a chat, he says he is either going to start charging alot more for ebikes or stop transporting them as 10 ebike is like having 30 normal bikes on the rig, the extra weight is an issue.
  6. ridiculous, especially considering only 1 of the 947s since I did my first one in 1998 was not timed by ractetec.
  7. I cant understand why they dont just use what is on Racetec ?
  8. Anyone seen this? does this mean that unless you have submitted results they will only use previous 947 results?
  9. well my VO2 max dropped when I had covid, the apps says its back where it was, but the body says otherwise
  10. and just to add, for everyone that always needs the latest greatest headunits, check at what he is using
  11. *** sitting here waiting for my VO2 max spike. Hopefully will come before sunday **** Maybe thats why I need to wait 28 days after vaccine.
  12. hitting that smooth velodrome after all of that must feel like you're putting down 500w of extra power.
  13. as usual, pretty much non existent
  14. jump onto GCN and show them the video of the 70+ year olds cycling. Think it was posted in the last week or 2. That one old toppie has bigger quads than me.
  15. where in GP are you ? The medi centre hear in boksburg has just dropped their price to R245
  16. cyclelab. havent used it yet. the idea was that its small enough to tuck into my carry on luggage to take it to cape town. Yes I cleaned and lubed my chain before the bike was sent down, but it wont hurt to add a bit more lube when I collect the bike on saturday. initial thoughts. I'd have preferred a flat base on the bottle, that way it could stand on its own. It has a pin in the cap that inserts into the little opening so it is supposed to seal it so lube doesnt drop out. I like that. The two "guides" on the side are also meant to take off excess gunk from the sides of the chain. that might mean things get a little messy. 2 extra "guides" are supplied.
  17. I did the same this morning. thought I’d stop and get a bottled water and then also discovered I did not have a mask. So I rode on anyway. Wasn’t the worst thing, luckily was not a hot morning.
  18. And it did not work. air pressure was about 40psi when I got back from work yesterday, so pumped it up to 80psi and put the bike away. by the evening it was completely flat. pumped it before those mornings ride, by the time of got back I was on 30 psi. spent some time with soapy water but just could not figure out where the air was escaping. As I was supposed to hand my bike in to the transport company between 10 and 11 I rushed off to cyclelab (because that is where the transport truck was going to be) and thankfully they were open. got them to sort it out. Turns out I’m not so good with the rim tape, the hole I made for the valve is the suspect, they put new rim tape for me and for me sorted. but whilst I was there I picked up a tube and a lezyne sport drive. If I get to Cape Town and it’s flat I’ll have to put in the tube
  19. Bike is now with the transport company, next time i see it will be Cape Town.
  20. Anybody watch the horse racing? the 2 private charter jets that did the flyby, my brother in law was piloting the falcon.
  21. it feels that deep sometimes
  22. yeah I gave it a skip this morning. Hopefully its stops for a bit in the afternoon and I'll do a short one.
  23. and it worked. pretty sure it was the tape, as I took off the old tape I saw sealant in the spoke holes.
  24. Old rim tape cleaned off, old valve out, rim cleaned up nicely. new rim tape installed. (Had to trim it as it to wide) new valve installed. actually for the tyre to seat with a track pump. First time I’ve managed to do that. fresh sealant added let’s see if it has held air tomorrow morning.
