  2. My new girl... http://imageshack.com/a/img923/5049/5pZhmR.jpg
  3. Anyone here suffer from Femoral Nerve Entrapment? Did you manage to resolve the issue, what was the treatment and how long did it take?
  4. Ahaha. Small world. Your wife and I have been chatting.
  5. Yes! And your partner does this with you! So that's double pain. I am still trying to figure out how to tell hubs I need to drop another R3k (plus change) on registration fees (after the new bike, and all the other goodies)...
  6. Chatted to my coach, and she is over the moon for me. Well - guess that's that then. See you there And my bank balance cries just a little more...
  7. Ah - thanks. Makes sense now.
  8. Is the swim a mass start (are there even any left)? Is drafting an issue due to non-enforcement, or too many people on the course? Sorry, newbie questions, but trying to understand the issues.
  9. Yes - but at least not all of those hours are not spent by feet pounding the ground.
  10. But why? Surely the gains become so small that it's not worth it (for us weekend warriors anyway). Sorry - running is really my worst sport - it's literally the only thing holding me back at present. That is some insane distance, and the risk for injury becomes very high. Still an impressive feat though.
  11. How is this course? I was planning on doing my first 70.3 in January, but I think I could potentially be ready for this if I don't injure myself.
  12. You too! Wine at the next 70.3 we attend.
  13. In Jhb sadly. :/ Would be awesome to find a training partner.
  14. Rest to let the muscles heal up. I have the same issue now in my left leg. Swim and cycling is fine. Can't run. Not a happy camper. Off to physio tomorrow and have a new regimen of pre and post run stretching to do.
  15. I think it's a bit soon for that. The pain and stiffness go away when I am active - so it's not at a point where I can't handle it. Will give it another week and see how it goes.
  16. I already do Yoga (which does some core work) - only manage once a week, but it's all I have time for. I have two strength sessions a week, but will add more core work and maybe up the intensity a bit.
  17. Hello and welcome Zander! Scarlett is sure easy on the eye. Just like the Cervelo. If the Cervelo were a red / orange colour, I probably would name her Scarlett.
  18. Another swimming question. This week I have done about 6km of swimming and have another 2.4 tomorrow. I just hit a new PR of 1km sustained swimming. Problem is my lower back is pretty sore and stiff. I did a lot of lifting and thought I had a strong back. Anyone else have issues with their lower back when starting out swimming?
  19. Hi There, I am Melissa. New to triathlon. Last time I rode a bike was in my teens, so I am a complete newbie. Signed up here to learn more about bikes, and I think I am more confused than ever. Settled on a new Cervelo S2 despite my confusion. I will probably buy a mountain bike at some point as well. I also have a scuba diving problem. I sure don't have a shortage of expensive hobbies...
  20. More details. Please also look at bringing in some woman's tri suites and some other cycling kit (Coeur comes to mind). Our selection is pretty dismal imo.
  21. Wonderful. More Pain Machine it is. Still think it's an issue with the saddle, but I don't really have an alternative. Feeling a little masochistic.
  22. I have a problem with my training. I am only getting my bike in a few weeks, and to get through my cycling training, I have been using the Wattbike at my gym. It's also going to be a stopgap when I can't get out on my bike during the week. I did some reading on how to set up my bike correctly, and I am using some ok'ish cycling shorts, but I can't last longer than 30 minutes as the pain my sit bones gets way too much (I have now dubbed the Wattbike the Pain Machine). I am not a cyclist at all, so the cycling aspect is very new to me. Anyone have any ideas / tips / experiences they can share?
