That frame is early 90's. It features in the 1992 catalog and slightly later. The Campag group is 8 speed Record from around the same period. Somec has some vintage catalogs on their website, www.somec.com.

Nah. I'm not sure on the exact stats but just about every pro tour Colnago in the 90's and the early 2000s used a Shimano groupset. Same goes for the 90s Mosers as well. I do prefer Campag though, because it looks nice. Ditto what badsam said.

There are definitely some items being made in Taiwan, says so right on the box. So far I've only seen brake calliper boxes with made in Taiwan, and read somewhere that Tektro might be making some of their callipers. Oh, and wheels are also being made in Taiwan.

That Italian flag signifies that it was made for Battaglin by the Billato brothers. They made the top of the range bikes for Battaglin, Ciocc, Concorde and many others, which is why you will see that flag on those brands from that period.

Love those old English track bikes. As a kid in the 80s I had an old chrome plated Carlton with Record kit. Even back then it was considered quite old.

Interesting bike. I doubt its an actual made in South Africa Hansom, probably something that Gotty imported and put his stickers on. I wouldn't just get it resprayed, try find out what it is first because you may have something that has some historical worth.

A former colleague of mine lost her home to the fire last night. She is devastated but thankful that she, her family and her animals made it out alive. She says she will get over it.
