  1. How sure are you of that?
  2. Oudtshoorn, what a place. You want woman, you go to the Spur tomorrow evening. As for my plans... I never plan! Planning is for girls!
  3. http://www.nuus24.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Fietsryer-sterf-in-ongeluk-20100920 Sad - RIP!
  4. ...read the fine print! Once a week on the dragstrip..., once a week into the gate, into the garage wall And dont' forget those short sprints. From gate into the garage, going up to 40km/h and then the sudden stop just before the wall. or the wall sometimes stop them!
  5. Ok, my % not so low... breakfast most important. lunch, and dinner. Snacks inbetween, lots of fruit and verggies. Portion size is also important. Should consist of mostly carbs, then protein and then fat. I do - cereal with rice milk, snack - a little pasta and boiled egg. snack - an orange lunch - rice and chicken and a plum snack - banana dinner - potatoe /fish, mixed veg...
  6. what I don't understand now is, carbon is more stiffer and more responsive than aluminium. Understandable on the road, but with all the shaking and rattling on a MTB... or is the carbon made to be less stiff to give a smoother ride?
  7. this says quite a lot http://www.itweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=33219:talk-702-sweeps-the-boards-at-mtn-radio-awards&catid=190&tmpl=component&print=1 702 and Cape Talk...kicked ass at the radio awards. why, think everybody's sick and tyred of all the same clowns , same old hits of the 80s, same old artists,"Celine dions, the hip hop rubbish, R&B junk, boy bands..." Too much of a good thing...
  8. yaaa, too many clowns on radio. You need a laugh now and then, but this is like a 24hr comedy show(one that sucks though)
  9. Well, cycling is an elitist sport as some would way. Ever walked around where the licenced and elite riders park at races. Name the CARS , most SUVs, Fortuners types, BMWs , Audis, ... thats why the bicycle prices are where they are! It has too big biiiigggg, "look at me , look at me, I'm the highest ape in the tree"
  10. I remember when I laaastt regularly listened to Jakaranda, that was early 90s when Ben Theunisen was stil on. After he left, things just went south, after that I could like name the next song to be played and many times I would be right. Cheers Kakaranda!
  11. Ya, valid point. This country really needs a new radio station...but that is another story so one will have to stick with your own music collection.
  12. When I heard the first time that he was on Jakaranda I was like "Huh , WTF?". And there it comes out. He is a rock person, and not the pop rock Bon Jovi type that they play on Jakaranda, the proper stuff. Metal Etc. And they should have put him 7-10 in the evenings, playing heavier stuff. That way they might just get some more fans. But unfortunately , its a "Every-day-same-rubbish" station like the rest!
  13. Naaaahhhhh, haven't in the last 10 or so years. Who cares? If they shut down all the radio stations playing music I won't miss them. I don't think its of importance who must apologise.
  14. Yes I dont' own the road, but I have a huge amount of shares in it
  15. system of a down - B.Y.O.B and Chop Suey
  16. This is the hub, one guy gives comment on a cyclist who messes up in traffic, and then the whole hub fights about it. I'm gonna stay of the hub next week.
  17. thats when I usually slow down and let them go...
  18. @Ash, ya, the bigger groups on Ontdekkers Rd...always a problem.
  19. Yes, riding two abreast is wrong, against the law. When its quiet, is there no middleground. A huge problem is a bit of tolerance. Why, is it so difficult for the general motorist to just go to the right , give a bit of space until he /she passed the cyclists. It seems that the white line is some kind of a barrier(I'm not talking about the solid white line now) Is it really so difficult. Looking at the amount of space between cars , line width, you can just indicate and without cmpletely going into the next lane just straddle the lanes and return once passed. But people seems to be under so much control by the lines that they won't move over. But also, they can't anticipate, because their minds are somewhere else...talking on cellphones, smoking, listening to music, some people just get lost on their music. Why do I feel now like I've said this before... arg well, new day, new topic...
  20. I threw mine away a couple of years ago... actually not impressed now with that. Ya, the girls of those days still looked like girls. More athletic, you forgot Gladys Portuguese... I remember having an Ironman magazine from mid 70's , with an article "How to get big and strong" - having the program based on the big muscles, you go heavy, low reps... Squats, Power cleans, Bench and military presses, rows and deadlifts. Used that a lot, was never a machine person.
  21. I remember all of them. Frank Zane was very well built, not too big, was probably the only one who didn't attempt to look like a monster. Platz was at New Dimensions in Krugersdrorp years ago, he did squats until he almost passed out, and they had Oxygen handy to keep him from passing out. Those legs were HUGE. I 'inhereted' old Ironman (not triathlon) magazines , and Flex , and Muscle and Fitness from my uncle. Local guys, remember Reg Park? My uncle knew him and got all his programs from him. Got to a stage where he was too big for the biggest suits.
  22. Bodybuilders are the most looni people you can find. Who in their right minds would want to do that to themselves. Have been a follower 15yrs ago...did the gym thing. And all the rubbish that you have to take...naaahhh
  23. So if you dont' like how the country is going you must leave. You are probably a student. Because if you are not affected and frustrated by whats happening in this country...
  24. No, I look in the mirror. No, actually tested at the VA, though, haven't done it in a year or so, but should be 2% lower.
