  1. True, i've always heard stories like this and thought I would catch and blikem the bugger but flip, when it happns it's a whole nother story. Had he taken my brand new Reba which is in my room I may have reacted differently
  2. I'm a student currently studying for exams and this morning at 10am I was the only one home in our residential home in Stellenbosch. I was asleep under my blanket because I did not want the light to bother me(studied till late). I woke up to the sound of strange noise in the front of my room an when I loked, there he was, standing in my room. He had climbed into the upstairs window of my room which faces the street and is in clear view of the entire street. Brave or stupid? Anyway, we both got a massive skrik, he jumped out the window onto the porch and sped off on his bicycle. I shouted at im and decided not to chase afer him. Good decision? What would you have done? I'm not a small guy but is chasing and potentially hurtng him in an effot to stop him really worth it?
  3. Helpfull post!!!! thanks

  5. I'm going to strip my scott scale 70 this weekend but my computer wont allow me to upload a pic... Can I email it to you? It looks so good I think I'm going to do my Giant Alias as well
  6. Everyone be careful of using MiWay MTB, I have been trying now for 2 days to get cover and after agreeing on the value of my bike they sent my policy to me my bike valued at R21 000 was insured for R2000 and I was still paying what they said I would pay for R21 000 cover. There telephone operators also give you the incorrect information which blatantly contradicts the fine print. (I personally record every phone call) MiWay. I asked the opeerator what my excess would be, she said R400. I asked her if she was sure, she said yes. Because of that I gave them the go ahead with the policy. They only send you the policy after you gave them the go ahead. I see now my excess is R2400(on a bik which they have insurede at R2000). Their service is SHOCKING and even though I'm paying for insurance now for both my bikes and im cofident that if I ever need to claim they will not pay out.
  7. Hi there all experienced riders! Can somebody suggest the best place to get my bike set up in Stellenbosch? I've been riding for a few months and have always struggled from bad back pain when going over bumpy surfaces. I am assuming it is due to the fact that I have not had my bike set up correctly. Can anyone suggest the best bike shop or private bike set up person/people? Also, I'm a student so I dont have a massivde budget.
  8. Ok, far from the best but I have no photograpy experience and I took this with my 2.0 Mega Pixel Blackberry 9300
  9. You just made my day! So there shouldnt be compatibility issues with the frame and groupset? Will the brake disks and casette from my 26er just pop onto the 29er wheels?

  11. Hi all! I need some help! I have a 26er with a shimano xt 3x9 groupset. I know minimal about building up bikes but I was given a nice 29er frame so am considering the change. Can I move the whole groupset to the 29er frame? Am I wrong to think I can get away with only buying a new shock and wheelset if i already have the frame?
  12. Do we know his name?
  13. Guys, if anyone is keen im selling BRAND NEW GENUINE SA RUGBY JERSEYS for R280. E-mail me: sarugbyjerseys@gmail.com
  14. Doesnt this scratch the handle bars? I guess you could just put a piece of rubber on the wall.
  15. Something you have designed... Something you have adapted... Something you have built... Something you fixed in an unconventional manner... Show it off here so we can all get ideas! I'm new to riding and came up with this, am I the first to have done it or am I catching on late... I dont like lots attached to my handle bars!
  16. Awesome! Well then I'm looking forward to it! I love the single tracks!
  17. Thanks! I'm keen! I'm currently off for 6 weeks still - broke my collar bone (G-Spot) Will keep in contact though. I'm still a "beginner" though so will struggle to keep up on the hills, maybe "unfit" is the better word.
  18. Can get expensive to replace cassettes, chain etc How expensive are we talking? The bike looks to be in good condition, what are the tell tale signs I should look out for?
  19. SO... There are a lot of cool cycling gadgets and components out there. But what have you purchased and continued to think, "wow, what a buy!" for months thereafter. A lot of us would much rather spend more money on something if we know it is value for money. What have you bought and never looked back? It does not matter how cheap or expensive it is!
  20. Guys, I'm still checking this post religiously so I'd appreciate anyone elses opinions.
  21. Thanks! I know a lot about bikes from doing my own research so was also leaning towards the 26er. What i dont have a lot of is experience which is why I like to ask and therefore learn more. Jonkers is not 29er territory, I like to hear that!! I'm not a big fan of the climbs at all, would a light 26er or a heavier 29er be better to climb with?
