  1. Perhaps we can get Helen Naude to create a similar message for Telkom?
  2. Yip. Diesel. Haven't tried it personally' date=' but apparently it works OK. And someone mentioned something about an oily substance in diesel [or was that paraffin?'] which is also a
  3. And then we still ask why he's always sarcastic?
  4. Ok, then I'll be the first to say something NICE about JB. I feel for you, and I appreciate your input. Unlike most hubbers who simply say "Do not use wax based lube", you'll say "do not use wax based lube because ..... And to demonstrate that this is true you can do ....." That's REAL input. It's better than people saying: "Wax lube is $hit. Don't use it" Sometimes I've seen him get sarcastic about people following media hype. I feel for him. In my line of work there's also a lot of media hype, and people believe it all without THINKING about it beforehand. I'm not a fundi on the REAL technicalities behind cycling gear, and I appreciate it when JB points out media hype and EXPLAINS why it's not true. As for him being sarcastic about general posts: Well, look how everyone is flaming him when he's giving HIS opinion [he has a right to post his opnion just like everyone else]. And when he disagrees with someone [and gives hard FACTS] people start flaming him up. :-/ I feel [and this is MY opinion] that most of his sarcasm can be justified. JB, keep on posting. my 2 cents. Flames are now offically open against me. Now where have I placed my coat....
  5. [this will be interesting]
  6. Apparently Topeak makes one http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7356
  7. I usually leave the wheel in the 11 or 1 'o clock position for a minute [to get the slime away from the valve] then deflate. Some of the slime will squirt out, but it's not THAT messy. Remember to press the valve in FULLY [i.e. a lot of air escapes quickly]. You don't want the sludge to set in the valve stem.
  8. Slightly off topic: http://my.telegraph.co.uk/peter_dtm/february_2008/miss_carriage_of_justice.htm A female driver is going to jail after hitting a cyclist who jumped a red traffic light. Personally, I'd jail her for not killing the cyclist...
  9. nono' date=' in South Africa it's a ROBOT [/quote'] Nope, it's a TRAFFIC LIGHT, no matter what country you're in. It's only a "ROBOT" if you're speaking Afrikaans... [and even then it's not linked to any country]
  10. First of all: It's a RED TRAFFIC LIGHT! A red robot is R2D2 when he's overheating! Secondly: Noembus, I want whatever you are smoking... C'MON! That's like saying: "If you really love me you'll sleep with me". If a pro don't stop at a red TRAFFIC LIGHT he's a dwis just like a speeding motorist. Again' date=' I train hard [for the time I have'], but wasn't dropped for not being strong/fit enough, I got dropped because I obeyed the rules!
  11. I agree. you can't get a driver's respect by breaking the law. OT: On Sunday I went for a training ride with a local club over Du Toitskloof, then back via Paarl, Wellington & Bainskloof. In Wellington we neared a 3-way stop. The current "leader" in the bunch simply rode over it and most of the guys followed, while a female driver was looking extremely puzzled in her car waiting for the "illegal crossers" to pass. I stopped and waited for the driver to pass. One of the more experienced riders simply shouted from behind that I should "continue cycling" and passed me, almost hitting the car. I was dropped right after that crossing and we only regrouped at the top of Bainskloof. What to do in a situation like this? I was greatly dissapointed with their attitude at that intersection.
  12. Have you tried adding a different coloured spoke opposite the valve?
  13. Mountain biker attacked Stellenbosch Is Stellenbosch OK? :-/
  14. That's just so not on. Any idea as to who this oke is?
  15. LOL! Ek het dieselfde gedink. FanieFiets, ek dink die girl like jou net meer as die res van ons...
  16. I third that! What's up, voetsek? Het popeye jou nou weer deurmekruis gemaak?
  17. I finally received a reply from WT exactly ten days after my initial email. Thanks for your speedy reply guys! Apparently they fixed the mistake with the Remax/Wingerd ride. But then they deleted all my other results because I'm not a PPA member. I bought my WT chip back in 2004[?] for a Burger/Sanlam race, but only started using it at PPA events this year. The funny part is that the PPA is advertising WT chips to NON-PPA members on their website. So they're willing to sell WT chips to non PPA members, but they won't time you unless you're PPA?
  18. Mine also! But my problem is: how do I get seeded if the @#$ keep on deleting my results if I complain about their crappy service?
  19. Can I vote AGAINST winningtime?

Nope, don't think so. There's no "kick" in sales. You can only make your prices "that" low. I'd rather stay in specialised services... You should become a standup comedian. People will get good laughs out of your attacks on other by just slapping together meaningless words without having a look at the evidence. Just have a look at your last & 3rd last post in this thread... Anyways, OT again. The site looks, well, "normal". I don't see any support for credit cards. Apologies if this feature is hidden somewhere, but it would've really been nice if I could use my card to pay for it. Re the prices: it's everyone's choice where they want to buy. Personally I won't buy the more "expensive" items from them. I also don't know what their markup is, and I don't know what all their other expenses are, but I don't care. If I can get a multi-thousand rand item cheaper at another shop, I won't think twice about where I'd buy. I'll definitely use cwc to reference local prices, but let's just hope that the new site stays updated...

Yip. Sorry. My bad ZAR/USD 7.37 at $270.69 for the DA STI's that equals R1994.98 [and if you click on the ZAR link on chainreactions' date= you don't even have to do the conversion yourself!!] add the R145.12 postage [dunno how they do that, but if that's what they quote...] and you get R2140.10 Compare that to your LBS price of R4200 and CWC's R3400... Yip. You're right. I'm definitetly an idiot if I only pay R2140
