  1. 2.2IKON is what i ride on the tar or cane gravel roads....not on trails
  2. hhmmm but Ardent is old Tech without 3CMaxxTerra or WT option
  3. currently i have a set of ardent race 2.35's on which are great for their purpose of cane road and easy trails. i also have a DHRII in 2.4wt which i use up front when im going somewhere i know more grip is required but cant leave it on all time as rolling is a bit tough on flat stuff also its a pain having to swop tyres. So im looking at trying to get a better allround tyre for the front, was looking at either Forekaster in 2.35 or Rekon in 2.4wt ..anyone have any input on those 2 ...( only looking a Maxxis tyres )
  4. Rapide you get get a brand new set for that price.
  5. Have to say i had a great experience @ CL cornubia on weekend...my son got a bargain helmet @ R200 off on Sale & i bought a light and got R100 bucks off on mystery discount code...Boom both winners... good luck going forward CWC & CL
  6. thats why i kept my old wheelset complete.. so i can swop out if need be ..depending on terrain / race
  7. that is exactly what i was running tyre wise but my rear rim was a tad skinnier.... now running RaceFace 30mm rims and threw the AR on the rear and the new DHR on front...woohooo way better traction and confidence in corners...it doesnt roll quite as well but thats a sacrifice ill take anyday...
  8. aah OK ...good to know. well it works damm well as a front i reckon
  9. so are you meaning as a rear tyre for accelerating traction ...not trying to be funny just trying to understand what you are saying
  10. i can't compare as i haven't ridden both...but that statement confuses me a bit ...DHF rolls faster but DHR accelerates faster .....surely the faster rolling tyre should also accelerate faster..
  11. OMH this DHR II 2.4WT is the flippin bomb...it just hooks in the corners and there no more of that clenching ( read puckering ) now when i throw the bike into a corner. admittedly its a little slower rolling but i will put up with that all day for added confidence in the twisty stuff
  12. wow just got that DHR 2.4wt ..theres a lot of tread on that beauty...hopefully getting my new wheelset today so weekend is looking good
  13. personally i won't buy anything that i can't go and see..feel ..so local only. that does limit choices but sadly there are just too many dodgy things going on
  14. cool thanks people ...ordered the 2.4
  15. actually im talking about either the 2.3 or 2.4 tyre and have a pike so sure it will fit. on evobikes they have a 2.3 ( but states REAR tyre ) and a 2.4 which is slightly heavier ...can i use either ???
  16. anyone have any comment on these as a front tyre MAXXIS MINION DHR II basically im upgrading my wheels to 30mm internal and want some thing a bit more grippy than my ardent race ...which i will stick on rear oh and dont want one that weighs a ton
  17. i only have one problem with ebikes....if he passes me on the way up the hill and then holds me up on the way down the single track trail ...then im pissed
  18. yes cant wait to come back when its dry and ride those trails again
  19. NOPE you missed it, they take the route markers down after the ride. Basically it seems they piece together all the best parts of trails ...damm it was good
  20. Yoh have to admit i had forgotten what riding REAL trails was all about. Trailblazer was so much fun, their trails are just sooooooo good
  21. Holla does have 330+ KM of trail admittedly there is a fair amount of cane road and Jeep track. It could definately do with some more trail features and more tech riding stuff... anyway looking forward to trailblazer on Sunday @ Karkloof OH and News just in Jasper Van Veesem has just landed the general manager position ...so trails they could be a changing
  22. you cant just go ride anywhere in the bush now as you will most likely get robbed, thus the small amount you pay for riding in a bike park in my opinion is well worth it.
  23. i think they are maintained pretty well, there is hardly a time when you cant ride ( except for just recently when flash floods wash out some bridges.
  24. actually i dont think Holla rates are crazy ...if you buy a year membership then its R 169.00 a month. so even if you only ride weekends both days then you paying R 21.12 a day. if you ride more then obviously you score even better.
  25. @ Lyne components ......will you offer the AMP with Brass nipples at all ???
