  1. (Un)Fortunately i had to go with this option purely from a cycling "budget" point of view, just to get the bike rolling for SSWC2012. Hopefully i still have most of my fillings left come the end of the weekend.

    RHCP

RHCP without John Frusciante is not quite the same. I'm going nonetheless.
  3. The pot calling the kettle black.... Pardon the pun.
  4. Ahh... Carl Lewis. Quite rich coming from him speaking out against Johnson, and more recently against the Jamaican sprinters. Seeing that he himself tested positive back in the day. Do yourself a favour and watch this documentary: Bigger, Stronger, Faster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigger,_Stronger,_Faster*
  5. http://www1.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Boris+Becker+Oktoberfest+Golf+Trophy+Party+lP8hVi_ZwXPl.jpg Cheers!
  6. Question ... On the Groupon Website is says that the unit "supports power meter". However, on the Bryton website i can't find any reference that this unit does that. Anybody know if it does support a power meter?
  7. Another review... http://bikehabit.blo...s-quarq-is.html
  8. You see, as mentioned earlier, he's just a poster boy for a PR machine. The typical Saffa attitude... all of the "keyboard olympians" complaining would rather be disabled and "advantaged" as Oscar obviously is. There is not one person on this forum that would rather trade their legs for his prosthetics. For me personally Oscar is an inspiration. Having had a hip operation last year made me realise how lucky i am. At least i can ride my bicycle again. There are loads of people out there that are far worse of than me. Oscar.

  10. Think he should've rather done that on the descent of the HC climb closer to the finish.
  11. Much have been said about the "chain-gate" saga. Thing is, Menchov was the first person to attack, and he was sitting 3rd on GC at that point. So Contador was supposed to sit up and wait for mAndy because she can't change gears properly, while Menchow rides off into the sunset? Cry me a river...
  12. He rode the Giro before the Tour. He was poked. With no Giro in his legs before the Tour it would've been a different story.
  13. Fan, Fan, Fan... You should know that only Contador doped and the Schleck Sisters would never ever do such a thing. At least mAndy got given a Yellow Jersey. Funny as hell.
  14. Made the "Gear of the Year 2012" list by National Geographic. http://www.pivothead.com/products/
  15. I understand that Nibali is not great at TT'ing. What i find rather strange is how Froome managed to klap everybody bar Wiggens in the ITT. Plenty people on here said that he's not great at ITT. Nothing against Froome, i'de love it if he won the Tour. I just hope the so called pre-race "contenders" keeps putting Sky under pressure. If everybody is riding clean, more riders are bound to have an off day, other than just Evans. That is if he has just been having an off day (or two).
  16. I'm not exactly an Evans fan but i have to give him credit for his effort yesterday. I think that added to the pressure Wiggens was under in the final few km's. He definitely wasn't comfortable. Evans might be out of contention now but i hope he doesn't give up and keep on trying. Also hope that Nibali isn't content with his placing at the moment and that he will continue attacking Wiggens. If Wiggens happens to crack somewhere along the line i would like to see what calls Sky make...
  17. So you're telling me i'm going to have to listen to P&P wax lyrical about Wiggens/Sky for the rest of the tour? As someone mentioned earlier. I just can't get my head around sprinters setting the pace up climbs and dropping proper climbers. I would also like to believe that the TT course suited the guys who klapped Cancellara more than it did him... i hope.
  18. I don't want to start a "doping" debate... Just out of interest sake. Assuming everyone (most) are riding clean. Are riders not more likely prone to having an off day on the bike? Surely all the top contenders won't be able to perform consistenly at their top level every single day of the tour riding on oros, or whatever else they put in their bottles? With some seriously tough stages looming, some of the front runners are bound to struggle at some point?
  19. I did a race in Italy some years ago, where on one stage, the last 5km's of the stage had a climb with an avg of 21%. I was riding a standard crankset with a 12-25 cluster. With 1km to go i had to get off my bike, take my shoes off and walk. I then realised why all the locals were riding with compact cranksets with minimum 12-27 clusters.
  20. AFAIK KTM doesn't make a 690 "Adventure". You do get them with the Rally Raid body kit though.
  21. When i was racing bmx as a laaitie we only had the rear brake on our bikes. That was usually set up on the right (right handers), and left handers probably the other way around. Been riding motorcycle for years and i prefer my front brake on the left on my bicycles. It's completely normal for me. No problem swopping between the bony and the bicycle.
  22. How dare you support the first (and only) South African to win the Epic, and his foreign team mate who's done nothing for cycling in this country?
  23. Maybe Burry should bring out a movie... Call it "An Olympic Tale" or something to that effect. Maybe a few Saffas would decide to support a former World Champion. Seems to have worked for 360Life.
  24. Just don't get your knickers in a knot. I was asking if it was a tyre choice issue. Like most people on the thread assumed...
