  1. I popped in last week Saturday after a long ride. Met my wife there for brunch. Very nice venue. I'll pop around again for a free breakfast! Maybe you could organise a bike rack? Unless you don't mind people leaving their bikes lying on the lawn.
  2. Seems like a good deal. Just a heads up.... http://www.takealot....camera,27405879
  3. Moet jy nie oefen nie?
  4. What time are they aiming for?
  5. The last KCNC jockey wheel i used...
  6. Just get these, end of.... https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/62477-formula-r1-brakes-very-light-with-braided-hoses/
  7. I'm riding 2 X 10 at the moment with a 36 "big blade" and 11 - 36 cassette. I rode the TransBaviaans this year without the need to change into my granny gear in front. So i managed to get over every climb with a 36 front and back. I'm not the smallest oke around and hardly a mountain goat. If you are fairly fit, you should be able to ride most trails in the WC with a 34 in front and 11 - 36 at the back, in my opinion.
  8. This will not be the first time. I have to say that my previous Bullmastiff, who I unfortunately had to put down because of cancer about 2 months ago, was not very destructive. That title certainly went to our Boxer. But i have to say that this one is trying to make that title his own, holy crap.
  9. Do you use the Training Load Plug-in?
  10. I user the PowerCal in conjunction with the WKO+ software. Riding both road and MTB i'm never going to spend the money to get both kitted out with power meters. By using just the powercal i have "consistent" (for want of a better word) data, whether i'm riding a road bike or mtb. To be honest, i'm actually not worried about the power numbers/figures at all. Having never really followed and form of training program, i find it usefull that i can track my fitness level, and when i need to rest, etc. I guess you could do the same thing with a normal HR belt in conjuction with SportTracks software with the Training Load plugin using TRIMP, which is also HR based. Seeing as i didn't have an HR belt I just decided to get the PowerCal. Guess i could've gotten the Garmin HR belt and used with SportTracks as explained above. Just a side note. You can use SportTracks software with the Training Load plugin for free. If you want to go the HR/TRIMP route. If you use a PowerCal HR monitor it causes the software to hang when you import the data. It is/was a known issue, not sure if it's been sorted out yet. With any other HR monitor it will work. So if you want to use a powercal you either have to use GoldenCheetah or WKO+.
  11. He's a Bullmastiff and his name is Diesel.
  12. The latest addition to our family.
  13. Ahh.... Nr 108. Him and his buddy who decided to push in through the group to get to the front as far as possible before the start of the race. Good to see him racing at the "sharp end" of the field (NOT) because he surely would've been further back had he not manage to do that. Knob. End of.
  14. Nice one Dangle. This just had me and my wife in tears.
  15. First time i joined this ride today and i don't think i will be doing it again. For the life of me i cannot understand how guys can't ride within the yellow line going down Bottelary road. Some guys riding three abreast and riders riding on the outside of the yellow line, maybe up to a meter in the road. With cars flying past, what are some okes thinking? Or rather, not thinking, clearly. In my opinion they should split the group into two. A faster group and slower group. There were clearly guys in the bunch who were struggeling to keep up going up Polkadraai, even with the moderate pace going up there.
  16. Pansie, jy het nie 'n koffie ride nodig om k@k te praat nie!
  17. Ok. Didn't see him at there yet when i finished. There was a dude with a full green suit.
  18. What outfit was MtbDude wearing?
  19. Finally got the brakes on....
  20. Thanks. There is one or two things i would like to change in future but for now i'm happy with the way she looks. I would like to change the wheels at some point in time when the budget allows. It's a set of Bontrager Rhythms had lying around, so i used them. I'm in two minds about the brakes. It's a set of Formula K24's. I love them, just wish they were black (or white). Might put my black RX's on the SS and use the K24's on my geared bike.
  21. Apologies for the crappy pics... Still need a mount adapter before i can fit the rear brake.
  22. Have got a set of Bowers & Wilkins 602 S3's with a B&W ASW610 Sub connected to a Cambridge Audio Azur 640 Amplifier. Amp uses a toroidal transformer. Yamaha CD-600 CD player. It's by no means high-end but for my purpose it's awesome. When it comes to listening to music, it does the job beautifully.
