  1. Its not a sklep to move Greyton or Oakvalley "net oor die buld" but I get your point
  2. actually, Drakenstein Municipality wanted the route to tranverse Paarl for 3 years. So I suspect we may have a Prologue in Meerendal. followed by something like this Stage 1 in Greyton to Greyton Stage 2 Journey to Oakvalley Stage 3 Oakvalley to Oakvalley Stage5 : Oakvalley to Paarl Stage 6 : Paarl to Lourensford Stage 7 : Lourensford
  3. Meerendal will be the prologue till 2028 is what they announced at last years route launch
  4. Yes , rather more pricey to maintain. But performs as well As RS or Fox
  5. there are literally pictures of the bike with SRAM TRANSMISSION on it.... I mean if that isn't a clue then its a big pizza on the face with extra cheese
  6. Maybe i misinterpreted Mamils post above
  7. can you post a screen shot of the article please. Sounds like my R1900 Tour du Cap entry is foobar
  8. yip,not to be confused with the UCI Gravel World Champs being held in The Netherlands in October
  9. they stopped making them because they ended up making no money off the darn things due to p*ss poor tolerances and warranty after warranty after warranty
  10. ...about the only thing that was relevant to what I said....the rest is thread derailment
  11. well you could have walked into MacD and got ripped R200 for Vegan cheese burger deluxe meal. Its all kind relative. R200 could kill you on the onehand while R450 for a genuine part brings peace of mind.
  12. Ride the bike to see how it feels. Spacing over spreadsheets will only get you so far.
  13. as my granpa used to say, "Son...seeeing is believing but feeling,,,,,,that's the gospel truth
  14. great review, thanks @Kylie what is an aggressive geometry comparison exercise......? were any dassies harmed in the process?🤣 Lastly I think the bike Size labels need to shift over one column to the right since the "Small" column has flip chip positions listed and the medium column has the size small data, large has size medium data etc
  15. YEah older Shimano cranks were bulletproof. The M960 XTR I bought in 2002 is still going strong but I've run out of spare chainrings and Wolftooth is out of stock to convert it to a 1x system (uses a stupid 102mm BCD fr the middle and outer-rings- Csixx don't make these either and it will likely be expensive) The 54N.m torque required to hold the crank is just silly. Cannondale Hollowgram's interface is free to use but that would be a slap in the face for the likes of Shimano and SRAM so everyone has a stupid work around. The Hollowgram/SRAM/PRaxis Works/ Race Face style crank interfaces are just adaptations of the square taper and Octolink BB crank interfaces. They work, but ya well everyone wants to be different so we're stuck with endless standards thanks to trivial patents SRAM pricing is higher yes. Look at the number of MTB teams they sponsor. They have been the technology leader in cycling components since the mid 2000's in both road and especially MTB and now Gravel. That alone justifies their higher price positioning. Higher prices t bricks and motor vs online imports is not unique to SRAM. It's the same for Campagnolo, Shimano and almost every other bicycle component brand. If you want good value and global pricing then Wheeltop, Ltwoo and other Chinese brands is were the value is at.
  16. that was how ass cream started. Assos chamois cream was for that purpose not the bum.
  17. lets see their quote for a custom M16x1 high tensile hollow bolt
  18. Euskatel sill in existence??!!!
  19. i'd concur with this. still the lycra should not wear through within 2000km yet it does happen and I have a few similar wear. Quite disappointing that even cycling kit is now considered rapid wear items. I miss the days of kit lasting 5yrs+
  20. i have similar wear in a similar bib, that area isnt anywhere near the saddle clamp
  21. Order and let us know if it’s a fake or genuine part <reopens online imports vs walk-in bricks and mortor>
  22. Your wish has come true but it won’t change pricing. That part is priced at €22.00 in theEU . R2Bike has it for €12.18 +shipping and it’s not far from kr more expensive than R450. I paid R420 at my lbs I. Southern suburbs
  23. Half the price of a decent tyre R200 cheaper than a cheap inner chain ring perspective
  24. I would expect the saddle clamp to chow the inner thigh area band not the back end of the chamois behind the sitbone area.
  25. Be careful of online tests of mtb tyres on gravel bikes and mtb with gravel tyres. suspension plays a big role. Basically, if you have suspension you can opt for a narrower tyre. If no suspension fast rolling 2.4mtb tyre is the way to go. Which one depends a lot on the terrain and your weight. There's no easy answer, i can only offer direction
