  2. strongs to the rider and big to whoever managed to catch the perps. just a pity the effers will most prolly walk away scot-free.
  3. very glad that they ar all ok. regardless of how they ride or how they are perceived to ride they are people - and as pedal says it's not a nice thing to happen to anyone.

    LBS Tantrum

while i do agree with the general comments here, i gather that agteros is a NOOB - ie he is learning about cycling and doesn't just know these things yet and i have to admit that a decent LBS would try teach him stuff each time he goes to them. unfortunately he has chosen a really really shyte shop to go to. luckily by the time i went to them (when i was looking for a road bike to replace my original hybrid) i already knew a thing or two and the service etc i got from them cemented by relationship with my lbs - linden cycles might be over twice the distance away, but i know it is in my best interests to drive straight past cycle fountain. agteros, do yourself a favour - rather go to linden cycles or to northcliff cycles. tell them you're a noob and they will help you to learn about cycling and cycling equipment.
  5. good news Chrispy thanks for keeping us posted with his recovery - there's nothing worse than wondering and hearing nothing
  6. glad that your buddy is ok. i hope his training pal is also ok - let us know. will keep him in my thoughts. i hope that the driver never ever ever again repeats his "i own the road" view to himself and that in future he will always be moer law abiding and aware.
  7. ouch, but treated correctly that should heal up almost completely - while still covered in scabs i hope the doc has prescribed chloramex/chloromycetin (it's actually opthalmic ointment but the top plastic surgeons all recommend it). it is only available via prescription. then once the scabs are off get Avroy Schlain tissue oil (yep, very specifically that one). trust me on this - you hve to look to find the scars from my 'shova crash and the docs had initially said i'd need at least 2-3 skin grafts to reduce the scarring.
  8. Haa haa... TB humor!! lol... I have fallen of my Bikecycle a few times for no apparent reason... I promise I will let everyone know if I fall of the Slapper... my concern is that you won't tell us if you fall off for no apparent reason....
  9. nope - you loose your cycling noob status ONLY with cycling related incidents... that is what i was trying to say What if I have fallen off a few times for no apparent reason? fallen off which bike "for no apparent reason"??? is there something you've not been telling us????
  10. nope - you loose your cycling noob status ONLY with cycling related incidents... that is what i was trying to say
  11. On the bike or on me? both' date=' just make sure that there are people to see the crash[/quote'] MAN IT SUX TO BE A NOOB STILL!!!!!! urk... please note that this applies to cycling only...
  12. yikes! hope the rider was ok
  13. ag noooo! what is happening down there in the cape?????
  14. They want me out of the country they will have to drag my cold dead carcass over the border. I'm here to stay. F the criminals. i'm with you on this - i REFUSE to let criminals win
  15. nooooo!!!!!!! may the fleas of 10 million camels infest his crotch and his fingers turn into fish hooks
  16. Can you park the rear wheel of one of the bicycles on a car bonnet? Damn guess she still out ranks me then
  17. glad to hear he's already feeling a bit better.
  18. glad he's home - it's much easier to relax and recover at home than in hospital. strongs to hannes here's hopin gyou heal up faster than expected
  19. definitely... very bad form to not be able to answer the standard question of "how's my bike?"
  20. "hold your line" is not the way to say it... rather a nice polite "passing right" or "on your left" or such like. if i'm being passed then i know which side the rider is gonna be and if i'm passing i know the "being-passed" person knows which side i am.
  21. OIY!!!! Chrispy!!!!!! we need regular updates damnit.... this is family - how is MM feeling today? when will he be home?
  22. hmmmmm - so seeing as I own the most road i can declare that it must all be restricted to 2-wheeld traffic????? cooooooool!!!!!!!!!
  23. oiy! i trade-marked that action at tour de soweto!!!! find your own manouvre to prove the road is yours! so wait - i have a car and 3 motorbikes - so i own the most road here!!!!!!!
  24. skipperw - as KF said, TB also does try - Bucc wanted TB to be there for ALL 2wheelers. www.thinkbike.co.za
  25. ouch!!!!! all the best with the recovery - i'm so glad that the doc is happy that everything went well. looking at that pic brings back some (luckily very vague but unfortunately very painful) memories from 2 years ago.
