  1. Yeah, not many Gravel rides on there though...
  2. Thanks for the input everyone... Nice ride, however a little to big for me, I ride a 50cm, maybe a 52cm, so 54 will be a little big for me. Thanks though...
  3. Hi All, Hopefully some of you can provide some valuable advice please. I am looking at getting a gravel bike, and been looking at these 2 models below. https://momsenbikes.com/bikes/gravel/gp300/ https://silverbacklab.com/product/siablo-105-2/ They both retail for about the same price (+/- R17000), and am undecided on which to go for, so looking for some input. I don't want to break the bank, hence this is the price range I am looking at, as I already have a road & MTB, so this will be my 3rd bike. Any views/thoughts on the about 2 bikes, or any recommendations on other ones to look at. Thanks in advance,

One last silly question...did you have Strava running on your MTN/Voda SIM, as I know that once you cross over into Lesotho, these mobile operators will charge us a bundle, although we are still technically in the country :-)

Great, thanks for the tips...will most certainly be taking it easy, as I just want to enjoy the ride & not going to any records & not claiming to be as fit as I'd like to be :-) I did do this ride at the end of 2015 (Manali to Leh) & one of the highlights were the "Gata Loops" topping out at 4800m http://i10.dainikbhaskar.com/thumbnail/655x588/web2images/www.dailybhaskar.com/2015/02/07/2_1423287732.jpg

Awesome, thanks for the tips...definitely won't want to quit :-) & will try & get to the top. Was just worried about going at it alone & the traffic/drivers etc. But am looking forward to it...

Thanks Sepia, So drive to the boarder gate & park there as opposed to the backpackers? (is there ample safe parking there) Thanks again...
  14. Hi fellow cyclists... I've been long meaning to get to the Sani Pass, so I've booked to do a 4x4 day tour from Underberg to the Sani Pass & the highest pub in Africa for the 1st July. But I was just thinking, as I am in Underberg for the weekend (Fri - Sun), I was going to take my bike along & attempt a ride on the Friday. I was looking at the forums & came across some useful tips, was just wondering if there are any further tips/advice. I am staying at the Sani Window B&B in Underberg, so was going to drive to the Sani Backpackers, park there, and start riding around midday. Questions: - about how long will it take to the top & back (i know this is depending on fitness, I am fairly fit, but just want to take it easy, & take photos along the way etc) - Would just like to be back at my car before dark. - is it safe to go alone - if I don't want to ride all the way up for whatever reason, do I just turn back on the same road/path & head back - take passport - take a warm/rain jacket. Anything else...? Thanks in advance,
  15. Great Love GCN, great videos...will look at more useful videos on YouTube as well., thanks...
