  1. if you are too scared or inexperioenced to do this dont call the guy who did it an idiot. 40 is the same speed as racing speed so i dont see the issue. once followed a truck like this for 30km at 60+, stay behind the wheels and you will hear him hit a brick or a hole! stick your head out the side and you will see the road surface ahead. go hard on the brakes one day and you will see how fast a bicycle slows down! stay alert and no problem.
  2. i have seen a lot of streaming video of this giro and i agree a lot of sections of the course were on very narrow, very technical roads. often the peleton were unable to get wider than 2 riders. if it is a single day race you sit up and let the daredevils have the day.on a tour you have gc issues and can not afford to give a day away. that is why the riders want safer routes. as to whether it was the right choice to 'go slow' for so many laps, i think they could have raced more laps. i think LA was dragged in to be a spokesman because he draws more attention, but i dont know the facts.
  3. benzine softens the neoprene component in contact adhesive enough to remove it from the wheel. it should not harm the wheel but do a test patch anyway. now fire your bike shop mechanic..... he is a disrespectful idiot
  4. oops sorry .... missed acsis rider and one guy who actualy had a tie on!!
  5. congratulations to pinnacle point and the pick and pay sponsored riders for acknowledging their sponsors. well done. perhaps the rest of you will realise the benefits of giving something back to your sponsor. the way that most of these winners have dressed showed very little respect for the institution that was awarding them these acknowledgments. does the chairman not have a blazer that identifies him as a representitive of this province. very poor show chaps. no wonder we never even knew the event was on. the organisers were probably to embaressed to invite anyone.
  6. join a cycling club or assosiation and support them in their efforts to get government to do something both csa and ppa are lobbying gov. to do something

  8. might need to consider using those rims on other hubs and spokes
