Hi there hubbers.... here is my story from the weekend. This was my first VG, doing the 40...after about 23k's into the race, started a small group of riders chatting away and drinking all our fluids....because it was scary hot out there.... looking at my clock, I saw 37.....odd k's done, and I thought to myself, **** man, only a few meters to go. So I started giving it my last boost I had left in my lungs an in my legs.... After about another 3 to 4k's......and I cant see the end..... (thinking to myself something is wrong) reaching 43k's on the clock and what do I see in front of me?????? The 5Km to go sign....so ja. Somewhere, somehow I managed to skip a turn or something..... I finished with 48k's on the clock........thirsty and kapoet..... just over the 3H 45 minutes...... I must just add, this was the best race I've done, will definitely do it again. Thanks to all the people involved in VG. this was lekker..... See you next time

Opgewonde oor die race. Sal ons eerste VG wees. So weet nie wat om te verwag nie, het darem al paar Magalies Monsters gedoen....seker amper dieselfde. Sal maar die nuwe wiele gaan uittoets Saterdag. Kan iemand raad gee oor waste pressure ek my tubeless moet ry by VG? Lekker man lekker.... Sien julle daar

Any Rustenburgers out there??? Any advisable places to go for rides and practises? Single tracks, Jeep tracks etc. Please assist

Hi there all you bikers... I need some assistance regarding a new bike. Looking at buying the Titan 29'er Sport. It's on sale now for R5900. Disc brakes, Lockout shocks, nice tyres etc. Currently I'm riding the Silverback Oakland....straight forward mtb. What do you say about the price and the bike? Is it worth it? Regards

Just did the race today. Awesome I must say. Will do it again, raining or not. Best of all was at the startup line when everyone was lining up, the rain stopped and after a few minutes the sun came out. and ja, we all know what happens if the sun comes out after raining. "Bedompig".... Anyway, it was a lekker race......hope everybody enjoyed it as much as we did. Still need to work on my fitness levels....... Happy cycling..

Where can I go and see the rider photos of the 2012 Crazy Croc MTB race which was held on the 21st of jan 2012? Any ideas?

Congrats guys... i Also did the race and ya...the uphills got me!!!! Also pushed most of the uphills and the downhills was awesome...however i lost my Cateye somewhere there and some GOOD bloke handed it in at the finish line. Thank you to that person who handed it in..... However, not chuffed with myself, I finished the race in 2H25...... believe me, i'm practising for the next race which is the Krugersdorp one on the 14th of Feb. obviously wanting to better my time... Just have to wait and see. Happy riding out there people and stay safe... PS: how many of you saw the guy doing the race barefeet???? Bliksem!!!!!

I think they call it the "V-Brake" system. I'm not sure.

Julle manne ry die GROOT races... ek gaan eers die 20k race doen. dis maar my eerste race vir die jaar. wil later van tyd opskyf na die langer races toe. Sal uitkyk vir julle onder die 75k race. Sterkte vir die race en sien julle moontlik daar. PS: weet julle nie dalk van 'n cheap bike nie? Soek 'n bike met shocks en hydraulic brakes etc. My Silverback maak my eina!!!! Groetnis

Hi guys, looking for a nice Mtbike not to pricy! ja ja, if you want quality, one should pay to get quality. I'm a mtb rider for just over a year now, riding a Silverback, but the rubber brake one with no susspension at all. Did a small route on Saturday, about 30k's, and yesterday my shoulders cried..... Looking for a nice well looked after 2nd hand bike maybe or something. So any assistance will be highly appreciated. Safe cycling

Howzit all can anyone please tell me where I can get a calendar for races in 2011 except at: - Ndorfin - Cyclelab - Supercycling etc I'm residing in the North west province and it will be diffucult for me to attend Free State, Cape, Natal province races. I bought myself the Silverback Oakland entry level bike. Will this be a good enough bike to start with?? No special features; normal brakes, Shimano gears, mtb tyres. Want to start mtbiking and looking for gear to buy. Any second hand gear up for sale are welcome. Thanks
