  1. What nobody seems to consider is the legal risk. You supertuck. You have less control. Something goes wrong. Pile up results. People are injured or heaven forbid, killed. There's a strong argument to be made that you were not only negligent but downright reckless. You find yourself facing multiple personal injury claims. Insolvency beckons (and then maybe divorce too). There's also a culpable homicide charge (maybe a private prosecution) and the risk not only of a criminal record but also maybe even of some time in prison. All this to see if you can maybe gain a few fractions?
  2. I actually think Canyon's replies are pretty fair. It's clearly an engineering decision they made and everything's a compromise somehow trying to balance lightness and strength. And I doubt you can fairly say that they don't know what they're doing. No offence meant to Button but after he'd broken two in the same way, he should have figured out that they aren't strong enough for that particular position. One can't reasonably expect them just to be continually replaced forever. This thread has had the opposite effect for me. Somewhere in my not too distanr future (maybe even as soon as next month) there's a road bike. Canyon is going to be front of mind for me.

  4. Guys, Vaalie here who wants to come join in - but how the heck do we get back from Kei to Kwelera?
  5. Collectable item alright. Not terribly practical on a bicycle though.
  6. The SRAM 1 x 12 with 10-50 cassette gives you almost exactly the same range as a 2 x10 with a 24/38 chain ring and a 11-40 wide range cassette. Hard to ask for more.
  7. Hey guys. Taken up mountain biking a few months ago in my old age (grand master as of next year) and really, really addicted to it now. Really enjoy enjoy a combination of fast hard pack with some technical bits - jumps and some fast twists and turns. My first really serious fall is still coming...
