  1. I have a Cannondale Synapse Aluminuim bike. Size 56, Shimano 11 Speed groupset, with Cannondale crank. Frame was bought brand new end of last year, and hardly ridden since. Shimano wheels.
  2. Any info on a leg loosener the saturday before the race? Is there still a group doing a suikerbossie ride or something similar?
  3. Any weather updates from the locals?
  4. Another new scammer on the block it seems... I put an ad up looking for an Ultegra R8000 crankset. Afrikaans guy phones me later (Schalk Verster, apparently from Colesberg). He sent me photos that I could not find on google search, so I assumed that the crank was legit. However, I was not willing to pay upfront as the risk was too big. We agreed I will only pay once I received the crankset. He was happy with this based that i have impeccable reviews on my profile for previous items sold. After paying postage (R100), he has since gone underground. Scammer: Schalk Verster Cell: 083 483 4343 Apparently resides in Colesberg
  5. Was seriously considering a 0 degree stem, but my back will curse me every ride!!
  6. Shimano 105 5800 Mavic Cosmic Carbon SR Wheels Weight = 7.8kg
  7. I need some advice please.. At the CTCT I weighed 90kg, which probably robbed me of my sub 3 for obvious reasons - I did 3:02. My ideal racing weight should be ±83kg. After the CTCT I changed my diet completely. I cut out all sugar drinks, beer, alcohol etc. I cut out 90% of carbs such as bread, potatoes etc. I eat 5 small meals / snacks every day + at least 1.5 liters of water. (Lean protein + Veg) I have also started some off-season cross training for overall body strength and fitness (Search Evolution MMA & Fitness on Facebook). I train at least 5 times a week, of which 3 will be at the GYM doing HIIT or cardio-core. These workouts are 45min all out sessions with no rest! These gym workouts do not involve any free weights that would promote major muscle building, but is mostly based on calisthenic principles. I have so far lost only 1kg, but 3cm off my waist. I was expecting much faster weight loss, but for some reason I cannot seem to get the ball rolling on the weight loss, although waist size is has come down quite a lot. Any ideas how I can kick start the weight loss??
  8. Jeez bud, I was on your wheel from the start for about a kay, looked back and saw the bunch in tatters and decided that I'll be better off in the bunch, or be completely shattered by the time we get to Edinburgh drive.... you guys were YSTER!!!
  9. Started in 1E. 2 okes went off like rockets were attached to their bikes and left the bunch for dead within the 1st kay. They ended up doing 2:45 by themselves with something like a 6 or 7 minute gap to the next E group riders....
  10. Also starting AL. Hopefully we'll have a group that works well together and we can do SUB 3. My experience previous years is always only a handful of okes pacing with 30 riders just sucking wheel, but once the finish line is in sight everyone seems to magically get some energy and sprint for 125th place......
  11. On a different topic all together - Any idea when the start group seeding will be released?
  12. Thanks Savage - Just saw the press release! Relieved it's all systems go! Air Tickets - Check! Accomodation - Check! Plenty of Miles in the legs - Check! Sub 3 - ......
