  1. I'm going from a Trance 26er(alu) that is is fairly light, if I want light I will ride my carbon hardtail, I want something that can take a beating and give me a beating at the same time when I'm in " I think I can mode " . Frame, fork & wheels in order of importance, I can change components way down the line if need be. Always wanted a Cruz though Would there be any change left I did go the Cruz route for a wheel upgrade at purchase time?
  2. You tried to glue them back? What in the world were you thinking. As other have said start wide, and don't cut them too soon, she will find what is comfortable for her soon enough.
  3. I don't think I'm gnarly enough for the flows( although one always likes to think it), would be a waste though Need to start getting some pricing together on Monday. Then the week after do some test riding hopefully when back in Debben.
  4. Do you reckon to go with the Flow, or the Arches? I weigh in at a hefty 80kg, the flows are obviously more suited to All Mountain whereas the Arches are more in line with XC riding, I will be doing a bit of both with this bike(bare in mind I do have a hardtail for race days) I'm certainly not a hard rider, and don't think I will be busting out doing massive jumps or intense DH riding.
  5. Spoke to the guys up in Debben, they can't get any Stan's Arches for 3 months to go with the Matte black Trance Doh, what other options, they offered me a Mavic wheelset they mentioned R5.5k , but not sure what those would be and not to keen on Mavics either, still waiting on the final quote so not sure what Mavis they would have been. They would have the bike ready for me Monday, now that's service They would have come in at R24K
  6. I like the idea of the Blackspade custom bike, although a more trail orientated frame seems a better option for my type of riding. So far the options are looking like in no specific order of preference, Santa Cruz, Trance, Intense & PYGA.
  7. Thinking of also incorporating a few upgrades as well, I'm getting a great deal from on the Trance though, with a wheel upgrade as well. Damn these decisions
  8. Is there anything in a carbon frame within that budget, not that it is an absolute necessity.
  9. I'm up in Durban next week, so that will be most likely where I will purchase from, I bought my last bike from Cyclesphere and without even asking they offered me a 15% discount for the repeat business. I will certainly make a trip or two up to Maritzborough to go for a test ride on that PYGA, get to kill two birds with one stone an awesome ride in Karkloof and test ride on a PYGA. The sound of a Santa Cruz makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, that has to be one of my dream bikes, so will certainly look into that as well.
  10. Hi all, Well it seems I will be in the market for a new Full Suspoension bike thanks to a generous donation from a relative. Thanks Uncle Jimmy , I'll ride it like I stole it. So I'm currently looking at the Trance 650b or the PYGA 650b. Any other recommendations of suggestions? Thanking You.
  11. Bwah ha ham coffee all over the keyboard comment
  12. Train harder, cycle more and ride more trails and to do at least one stage race next year.
  13. I was referring to road bikes , nothing less then even 6K, which is surprising considering those cheap MTB's come with disc brakes, forks etc
  14. Why is that? You don't get much below the 5K range
  15. Cool, no problem. We will await the verdict I'll be mostly in Durbs(Westville)
  16. I don't think that there was anything intended
  17. I've been having the odd ciggie now and then, maybe two a day, otherwise been using the Twisp. Lungs are feeling better for sure
  18. Just to correct you that is a full suspension bike, not a softail . Nice looking bike though, many happy miles
  19. Happened many years ago though, I left London almost 6 years ago next year. The person that did it to me just drove off and I was left with a broken front wheel, and nobody got any details. Same thing happend at a traffic light
  20. Hence my question, what does the law say, and who is at fault? So we even have jay walking laws in South Africa.
  21. Good to hear you OK, happened to me in London many years ago, has made me super cautious travelling amongst traffic. I know constantly check what is happening inside the cars now with regard to passengers. On a side note, what does the law say regarding this, who is actually at fault?
