  1. I'm still waiting too, very irritating
  2. Those wheelsets are the dogs bollocks, love this bike too - Nice
  3. RIP fellow rider , may you ride amoungst the stars. This is an absolute tragic waste of life, senseless murder by a bunch of mindless morons. I hope they catch these bastards.
  4. Its all down to personal preferance, test ride some bikes is the probably the best bit of advice
  5. It seems like I never smoked before, weird
  6. A strange thing is now the Dutch Government has reversed its ban of a full smoking ban in certain pubs, It could start a slow reversal of the laws, where smoking will be allowed in certain places.
  7. Caerus

    Thule Euroway G2

Too much to mention, Im guessing in the region of about R4500
  8. Did you make your mind up on what to do? or
  9. Johann keeps referring to monkeys, I was just wondering what the reference to our primate friends had to do with bike servicing? So I perhaps assumed he was a circus trainer in his spare time, maybe he keeps them as pets, not really sure still.
  10. Go hope, go hope. Best brakes Ive had, So little maintenance has been needed on the set i have, which are now about 6 years old, still as good as the day I bought them
  11. So sorry, nxet time sir I thought it was a discussion, not a slanging match. Did I miss something?
  12. I still think it expensive, youve also not given me enough justification to prove otherwise. Im also sure a lot of other people will think the same thing. Whats the point, we might as well just continue to pay the crazy serviceing repair/ prices, and save money elsewhere. It seems to me that what you have to say is the be all and end all so what the point in actually havin a discussion. Gosh the view must be great from up there.
  13. Im on the coast in Durbs by the Sea(rust heaven), I was just wondering if it was down to inferior cassette & chain too, as my bike didnt do it or hasnt has the problem, and its been through the exact same riding conditions .
  14. Should a cassette & chain rust on a new bike when its been washed & lubed straight after riding, the bike has been ridden twice, the bike is also kept in doors all the time besides when riding?
  15. Who is this monkey you keep refering too? You seem too like monkeys Are you a circus trainer in your spare time? Please explain this whole not asking for a service(major or minor) it seems to have gone whoosh way over my head. I cant seem to grasp this. Is this also a religious lesson, dont know why the bible needs to quoted
  16. There is already someone doing that - He charges just as much. So wheather youre in a shop/ factory/space its the same price it seems. A thinking of changing professions, You Tube taught, I'll charge slightly less, as Im not fully qualified. Im surprised more motorbike/car mechanics havent made the switch over - Less grease, no bending over, climbing under the hood etc - No three years apprentice training just a months worth of internet training, a blue book and some tools. Then youre A for away - At what stage are you able to call yourself a bike mechanic, before charging premium rate?
  17. You may upset some people for asking the wrong right questions The trouble is you will never get a proper answer, period - Why cause then we all know what we were thinking is true Its like the whole bicycle/parts price collusion/fixing scandal, or along the lines of the high bank charges. Thats the way it is - A bike mechanic earns more than a car mechanic, go figure
  18. Exactly. Like Ive asked before what is the going hourly rate for a mechanic? A person with 1 years experiance or someone with 15 - 20 years experience?
  19. Nice work - I like your style
  20. So would I, seems the bike washer earns almost that considering his hourly wage
  21. Its like the guy that wanted to charge me R50 to clean my bike(and a lot of people happily pay) - half hr job possibly - sometimes less - So that guy is making R600 - R800 a day to just clean bikes. Then look at what you pay your garden boy a day - R100 - 150 for hard laboured work. Where is the sense, its that cause its cycling its almost a right to charge crazy prices for the smallest of tasks and then try justify it.
