I have a bit of an issue with my ESI grips, they may have became contaminated with brake fluid, and as a result they not longer "grip". I've tried washing them, but I still can't get them to stop rotating as if it were a motorbike accelerator. Driving me mad and its fairly dangerous at the same time.

Whats a limited lifespan? cause both my bikes have ali spokes, the first being 3 years old and the nipples are as good as the day they were built, the second being 4 months ago and they too are fine and I've done good mileage on both.

I've got an old helmut, and some other bits & pieces in my car to hand out to three commuters I see everyday. I stopped the other day to set a guys bike up for him, lol. In saying that, I was down the South Coast two weeks ago and almost hit a MTBer as he had no lights, not even a bit of reflective clothing, and all in black, that old freeway is pitch black at night and NO street lights. I just don't get why you would do that?

The Government needs to roll out some sort of cycle safety programs & lights to try prevent this from happening all the time.
