  1. Yoh, Mayhem.. your drop on the entry will take some slick mid-air manoeuvres to nail.. that said I am certainly up for the challenge... Was really not expecting so much air considering I approached it thinking I needed to keep it low! Yohh!!
  2. Super cryptic..! I am understanding that he is not in favour of Isuzu.. that's right hey Slow?
  3. I read that several times and still all I can say is come tell us in person!
  4. Try a landbou co-op in your area.. heard they are available there as a hoe and/or handle option.
  5. Oh, Chris Nixon made the table look totally effortless yesterday. Serious style points earned!!
  6. I saw this lot heading off with all the dangerous tools and decided best course of action was to claim ignorance.. I have no idea what was actually happening in this pic, I am assuming the next pic would have shown Eric lying in the dust on his back when the stump flew! No, the only other white Jerome is the one standing in the background looking satisfied with his work. Ed: Mayhem sneaks in with the facts..
  7. This pic cracks me up! If Jane Fonda was ever looking for a men's workout vid inspiration, she'll stop at this! Jerome holding the axe with encouragement from Myles really seals it!!
  8. A pic of the two berms following the table and berm combo. The berm in the background was still needing final shaping at the time of the pic.. (by the time I was finished, so was the light.)
  9. ..nice report Mayhem but just to add the two lower berms were finished last night. Lots of reason to go for a ride today. I have a picture here somewhere.. my kids keep moving my flat battery phone and end themselves laughing about it I'll post a pic in a bit! The skills area should essentially be a fully fledged multi-graded trail offering shelter for hot and windy days where riders can just session the lower slopes of Tokai. The plan as it stands (nothing set in stone until we know it is the best offering) is to construct another 2 trails in the area that lets the rider peel off on the grade they prefer. Only the black run will have a qualifier feature at the start to prepare the rider for the bigger feature further down the line. These offshoots will eventually join up with the trail lower down.
  10. That's funny.. and hot!
  11. Hey Mayhem, we opened the trail before we left. The clay had set just enough for the last few riders on the mountain so I'm sure by the morning it was green light for the Sunday masses.. Thank the trail fairies it didn't rain!!
  12. Opened the trail before we left for the day and within a minute the first rider hit it blind and with ease.. sure, he was 5 but it just means I can say confidently that this feature is safe for all ages. Still more work set for lower down the trail. Took some guys through the plan for the next few corners and all seem to be in agreement that it'll be fun!
  13. That's very funny.. ! Coincidental then that the tree is indeed of a Christmas variety..
  14. Is that an Action Frames shirt, do you know Dave?
  15. Saw you overhead.. several times!
  16. [...and just saw the wave of tweets around your successful morning ride! Well done TMB, keep the energy!]
  17. Two berms, one tabled jump, countless stumps removed, loads of sweat!
  18. x4 tons clay and filler moved to the trail, check x10 large pine poles for backing at the trail, check Tools, check Water, check
  19. Bummer.. hey sounds like we are on for the 1st btw Rad x2!
  20. A few requests for an earlier start to the day will have some of us rubbing sleep from our eyes at 9am! Roots is the trail getting the last of 2013 volunteer love. This is a good one as it's the last trail before exiting where we can top up on berm railing, zig-zagging, drop-off flying satisfaction. The aim is to reshape the existing line and possibly add a few goodies into the trail to make it that much better. What we build is what we ride, let's make it a good one with a good turnout! The day will again be supported by PnP Steenberg providing lunch. Not sure what is on the menu but if it is anything like the last offering, I am so looking forward to working up a hunger. Could I ask volunteers please indicate if they can make it, this will help with catering. Remember, 9am, Roots trail. If you miss the shuttle, it's the lowest trail on the right of Fairie Garden, so it's not far to walk/ride. Hope to see you guys and girls there. Bring water, gloves, sunscreen, rake/spade if you have.. and humour is essential.
  21. Thanks for taking a balanced view and making a balanced point. This is the start of a solution that invites interaction.
  22. 650b vs 26" DH bike test result.. .75sec time saving and less effort applied. Hmm, all that time and money spent to justify that you would in fact be faster - great if everyone was chasing a clock. I don't think I will be throwing my 26 in the bin just yet, now to convince the tyre manufacturers that "we" still exist : /
  23. That conversation is almost exactly "the feeling I get when I look to the.." mountain and think about the style points to be earned. This writeup puts the wheel size debate in the realm of speed or enjoyment which is what some people still consider when choosing a bike. 29; strava king! 26; ooh, look at that rock, and that one, and that one, and that one!
  24. ha ha, we had a giggle at Bennett's expense yesterday.. ahh, good times.
