  1. ..not really. But it has a bead-nip ridge for extra hold.
  2. I used it on the downtube on my reign for about 3 months. First ride was the dirtopia enduro in Greyton.. rough terrain with plenty roost flying up and hitting the tube. The sound is still enough to send chills but not a scratch on the paint! Ok, so it did chip some of the Plastidip, but I only applied 3 coats - sure Crow is doing more.. I mean who would go to all that effort masking chevrons and only apply like, 3 coats, right?
  3. I would guess between 2~2.5 on Subrosa.. Spank; since we are talking dirty.
  4. Miy NN are Snakeskin, Evo, TL and the idea that I could be overtaken by the back is not inspiring.. my personal limits remain where they are..
  5. Last I heard Allen fail was when he was caught seducing little kids.. does that still count as innovative? Sorry..
  6. I'm with you on that.. having a hard time keeping the back on track with the Nobby Nic on the rear.. I'm sure I ride more on the folded sidewall than I do on the tread?! The tyre is already harder than I'd prefer andit's still folding in corners.
  7. I think the compound you refer to is only for the tread rubber, whereas the TPI is the thread per inch count.. commonly 60 or 120. More tpi is stronger in overall tear resistance and shapes to the ground better, but is heavier. You touched on it in your post..
  8. Fork or shock? Model and pic will help too. I spend a lot of time out there and pick up a lot of stuff. Found one of these for a Cannondale.. http://www.cannondaleexperts.com/assets/images/kf211.jpg
  9. Oh I see it now, the chevrons are masked with some pinstriping.. did not see that at first, hence the puzzled look you got from me on Saturday!
  10. Same issue on my Vanilla 140 few years back. Crown warrantied, seals/oil replaced at no charge.
  11. Andrew Andrew Dawid David Daniel Daniel Wayne Wayne Deon Deon Rogan Gerald Stoffel Iwan Myles Mark Ben Pierre Kiara Jerome Gavin Brandon Marlin Stephan Rupert PnP Cycle Factory (anyone else Myles?) THANKS!
  12. ..and Cycle Factory. Man, these guys are making contributions towards riding left, right and centre! Thanks guys!!
  13. Alas, I will be late, if even by a few minutes.
  14. Work, load tools, craft trail with some of the Cape's finest, straight to Ellerman house with my master, wine and fine dining in my trail building best! http://www.ellerman.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/experience_about_03-314x287.jpg <I might need to take a change of clothes in the bakkie> Sunday morning railing sweet berms as many times as these legs allow!
  15. A kettle? That's so nice mayhem.. thoughtful chap!
  16. Trust me, you'll hear the whoosh but only when... "Pike could be even better if two things were addressed: bushing bind and offering the fork in a 20mm configuration."
  17. I'm worried that by the time the Pike is available in 20mm, RS would have stopped production on 26".. I am taking a gamble by waiting, but the black 20mm fork might just suit my black seatstay, perfectly.
  18. Ok, let's talk Pike. Hmmm.
  19. Dan just initiated a wave of tweets around the country.. I wonder how many people my permit allows?
  20. Rad, the count is 21 so far! Awesome guys!!!!!!!
  21. Bearings for easy access?
  22. Huh? I was hearing good things.. Is there a pic?
  23. Bollocks! I'm locked into Avid by virtue of bank balance. If not I'd send for some custom yellow Hopes..
  24. Really? Cool! Happy again.
  25. Ha ha, sorry, I meant when I bought them it was a luck coz they were new and so cheap. Mayhem was in fact one of the guys who said they were good stoppers. There were two of us on the ride with Trails, he left mumbling something about new brakes.. I too ran 160 but the bike shares function between trail and dh so 180 made sense on the front.
