  1. I’ve been using the zoom flyknit as my trainer and the next % as my race shoe. The next % you can still get but it’s hard to come by, the flyknit has been replaced by the zoom fly 3. If you in Joburg you can get the zoom fly 3 at the Nike Factory store in woodmead although it’s sometimes hard to find your size.
  2. Poly Christodoulou Podiatrist in Bedfordview, she’s done all my inners for me. I can highly recommend her.
  3. I will be doing the same since my non-refundable “comrades special” hotel accommodation is already booked.
  4. Very disappointing to see TOM cancelled as I’ve been training for this for a while but an understandable decision giving the circumstances. I can only hope Comrades doesn’t go the same way.
  5. I see the organizers have confirmed that the two oceans Ultra is now a 58km.
  6. That’s lucky - I suspect maybe a few applications slipped through the cracks as I’ve heard similar stories of Non-ASA members being accepted in the first half draw.
  7. If she’s in Cape Town then I’d recommend the Sanlam Cape Town marathon, it’s a pretty flat route with plenty support and a great vibe the whole way. It was actually my first marathon and I loved it.
  8. That’s if they ever open the Two Oceans entries...
  9. No benefit for most of the people I see wearing them then...at least now I can justify why I don’t “need” a pair.
  10. The benefit for me would definitely be a shorter recovery period. I currently run in the Nike Pegasus and my inner shins take strain even on shorter runs. The price of the shoe is crazy though, it’s double most top of the range shoes. The Hoka One Carbon X also has similar tech in terms of the carbon plate but it’s a much more reasonable R 3 500.
  11. I’m sure the shoes are fast but I wonder how much of that huge gain is down to the placebo effect or just being better prepared.
  12. I thought the event was fantastic. It was well organized from the starting chutes to the water stops. I’ve done 94.7 as well as CTCT and you cannot compare the two. The CTCT is so much more enjoyable largely due to the vibe and the scenery. I started on a tandem in 4J and had to fight the wind for 109km So I’m happy with a 3:53. Hopefully next year I can get a better seeding time.
  13. Thank you,I look forward to the event
  14. Hi @grindermtb. If I may ask, is the loop mostly technical and single track or Jeep track?
  15. Sorry for the double post but didn't see this thread until I started a new introduction thread. So here it goes again... Hi everyone My name is Grant and I currently live in Cape Town as I’m completing my studies at UCT. I ride a 26inch MTB and absolutely love it, not planning on going bigger until I can’t find 26inch tyres. My main hobby is motorbike riding. I came across the forum searching for a tandem bicycle to buy as I’m wanting to do Argus with my dad next year. I have a few questions relating to tandems so thought it would be a good idea to create an account and try find some info. Happy riding Grant
