  1. Thanks Fandacious Tried it and it seems to have worked will let you know when I receive my order
  2. If You are looking for MTB trails check out Hola trails in Ballito over 80km's of marked trails. I have done a few of the routes and they are sublime! http://www.hollatrails.co.za/web/
  3. There should be a lot of stories on the Hub if you do a search you will find plenty of instances, for myself I have not had the experience yet! Have a friend who was knocked over by a truck going up Hans strydom from Lynwood road. Lucky not seriously hurt. Great topic and Kudos for the initiative.
  4. Didn't get to ride this year , But this thread is so much better then the other one's whining about the race. It's amazing how a perception can change how we see things.
  5. I had the same issue, 1st its really great when your wife wants to be part of what you enjoy and maybe she just wants to spend more time with you which is a good thing. So either give up your racing aspirations for now and work on getting your lady fit enough so you can ride at a speed you both enjoy or join a club where she can ride with the slower riders and make friends that can ride the races with her. Or seeing as she wants to spend time with you doing some exercise find another sport that you keep just for the 2 of you like hiking. Marriage is give and take and you cant just take.
  6. Cyclesure 20K R150
  7. Hi Anyone ride with this group in the mornings? What is it like? What is the average speed, coming off my winter lay off and I would like to go but dont want to be in a world of pain. Thanks
  8. HI Early Bird, Sounds like you have a pinched nerve, I went through that in 1993, the worst pain i remember was after sitting for a bit it took about 10 mins to stand up straight again had to straiten up in stages. I eventually landed up having a fusion in my lower back S1 and S2, not something I would recommend but at the time there was no alternative. Medicine has advanced since then I am sure so explore your alternatives. If it is correctly diagnosed as a pinched nerve and nothing else works and you have to go under the knife, pick your surgeon carefully heard some horror stories about ops gone wrong. Mine was a success the biggest thing is the recovery after the op. I was at home for six months was not allowed to sit for three and then had to wear a ridiculous back brace for the next three. (The boredom was excrutiating thank God for friends and playstation ) Anyway the most important thing is to follow the rehabilitation program the problems I have heard of is when people try to get back to work to soon or start moving around to much causing damage again. If you do go for the op please, please do what they say after. Today I am perfectly fine I have to watch that I dont get lazy and my back only gives me problems when I dont exercise my core. For myself chiropractors have their uses but be weary of them not one has ever helped me in a lifetime of back problems.
  9. I am always keen for a ride at Groenies, and would be great to meet you guy's what time will the ride be though?
  10. OK read the thread and I am ready to give it a go, I have a million reasons for stopping smoking and only 1 for still smoking, fact is I have hated smoking for a long time and it is only the fear of the withdrawl that has kept me smoking for the last year or so. So as of now I am a non-smoker (hopefully) being an imagitive person they way I look at it is I am at the bottom of the biggest climb of my life and full of worry and fear about the climb ahead, but I know how to climb this mother of a hill, one pedal at a time head down and embrace the pain cause then I know I am heading towards the top, really looking forward to that point when you just know you can climb all the way to the top even though you still have a long way to go, you just know inside that you will make it all the way. (need a determined emoticon but the re isn't one)
  11. That's just not on, it's tragic when we can't even ride our bikes without these kinds of things happening. Would appreciate full details if anyone can find them as I also ride a Groenies often.
  12. we approached is it as a bearing- wear problem and Dude dont want to be petty but you have a spelling mistake or syntax error on the front page, that always puts me off when I read something. Otherwise good looking site I will give it a try sometime.
  13. Bet you dont ride with her anymore
  14. Nice Chuck when you have a rant you really go all out, if nothing else comes of this at least I had achuckle over you post.
  15. Man some of the idiots on the hub can turn anything to dust! Here I was expecting posts about all the positive excitement in SA and a few clowns maage to hijack and turn it into a race and polotics thread. As said before Thx for F'all
  16. Had a ride at Groenkloof this morning and it was looking in superb condition the singletrack has smoothed out fantastically after the rain and it seems like some of the rocks going down along the fence have also rolled mysteriously away. All I can say is fast and superb, had an awesome ride.
  17. Sweet they look awesome, like the new colours. Riding the older ones and I love em.
  18. Hi welcome to the hub, at your price range a hardtail is the best way to go and agood second hand will be optimal, if I can give one peice of advice go for the best components you can get for your bucks, at the price range you are in all frames are pretty much equal so it is the components that will make the biggest diffrence to your ride, front suspension first and then drivetrain.
  19. How about some route info? how long is the trail, how difficult etc.
  20. Sorry you are correct I should have warned the sensitive viewers.

  22. Well the D'Arcs are way more comfortable than the Rudys. I'm looking for functionality and not status. I am with you I dont buy according to brand names if something works for you then that is the best one for you. Dont care what other people think.
  23. If prepsol is the magic stuff and enviromentaly friendly too boot tell me where do I purchase it ? at the LBs or at the local hardware.
