  1. Howdy. I ride a 2011 merida 96. It is an awesome machine and really enjoy riding it. This past weekend i went to groen kloof and attacked the rock garden section with a lot of speed, after doing my second lap i noticed a lot of dust collecting on the left side of my Magura Durin 100 shock. I cant recall ever noticing this on any of my previous bikes shocks both rock shox. Is this a problem or normal ? Shock has done about 50hrs and is setup according to my weight and manufacturers specs. Anything to be worried about

  3. with loud music and disco balls .... disco disco woooo wooooooo ..
  4. I hated cross marks , fine for hard pack autum / winter rides but in summer i saw my ass on damp soil muddy sections, but i would like to try a monorail heard they are ok ..
  5. Is it true what they say about rather change the chain more often as it prevents wear on all other items?. I believe that the more expensive lighter chains are thinner and softer and hence wear more quickly ? cheers
  6. Rocket ron's are awesome as well , a bit soft and do take a beating over rock gardens , but an awesome tire , has a really fast rolling speed as well , and loads of traction ..

  15. mOST DEFINATELY A SOFT TAIL and out of the selection the merida 120 or the scot spark ... both of those are awesome bikes... i have ridden both and that would be my choice.. the 120 in that white and red option looks verry sweet!
  16. 600g tubeless folded tires are R700 at johnsons in edenvale but seen the regular ones for a bit less.
  17. Rocket rons is what i used, i found the cross marks to be a bit skittish , better than the crossmarks i liked the mountain kings , but mud hard pack loose rocks and gravel and slippery stones (4 day sabie experience ) rocket rons got me through with few slips etc.
  18. @ klappertjie Always open to offers you never know... @ covie .. lol ya sometimes i do tend to be long winded

  20. WOW to say the least. I usually give my little girl those cheezy medals we sometimes get given at the end of a race , but this medal i am keeping in my bedside table drawer!! blood, sweat , almost tears i suffered all of these .. Man what a ride the only place i was able to rest was on the uphills!!! Those were the toughest ,rockiest, most technical decents i have ever experienced .. I really felt a sense of achievement as i crossed the finish line , this was an AWESOME ,AWESOME ride Congrats to the guys who managed the 75km, i definitely have my eye set on this ride next year .. This climb was where we were going to .. And there in the distance is where we came from .. the descent after this pic was awesome and extremely technical . I saw many over the handle bars casualties on the upcoming descent! KiNgL2010-05-30 07:08:06
