  1. I haven't had any crashes, but have already found 3 bugs. The funniest one being that my most consecutive goals is between 23 Apr and 29 Jul - now I know that's not true as I had a baby on the 3rd June and missed 3 weeks....
  2. Exactly, but they are doing away with the team reward so I will no longer have that incentive. The smoothie isn't enough of a reward as I actually find it harder work to use the rewards than earning them and am often giving them to friends / family.
  3. Its a negative change for me. I don't stress too much if I let myself down by not getting the points, but having my team mates seeing my points makes me ensure that I make the goal every week (and we *** each other out if we don't make it). They should maybe have given people the option.
  4. With regards to exercise, by chance for me, I found that swimming was the best way to lose weight. I had been cycling and doing a bit of running and my weight stayed stable. Then I start doing some swimming with a masters group and managed to lose weight without changing anything else. Nice thing is that it's low impact on your joints.
  5. My heart rate is a lot higher when shaking my arm (if I am short 1000 or so steps) than when I am walking. It actually goes up to +- 140bpm's.
  6. Well done to you both ! Love the attitude.
  7. I was exactly like you before I decided to active the shoe booster and Vitality baby both which have numerous flaws. Everything else works fine for me.
  8. I can't wait to get back to swimming some decent distances. Was training with a great group of master swimmers who pushed me, but had to stop swimming with them in September when I fell pregnant as I had issues with my iron and blood pressure and kept on feeling like I would pass out in the water (especially in the hot gym pool). Only 5 weeks to go and then it won't be long before I can start again :-) Looking forward to getting back in the dams for open water swims as I love the freedom. Then its just getting up the guts to get in the ocean.
  9. They had to stop the swim this year due to the water temp being too cold.
  10. Vitality are driving me insane !!!!!!! The screenshot below taken from their website clearly states that all I needed to do to get 25% cashback from Sportsmans is to declare that I am pregnant at my Health Check. I queried on the 30th March why my % was still 15%. Finallly today I get the reply below. Why should I now pay for a fitness assessment when I can't even do it (35 weeks pregnant already)... We request that you complete the Vitality Fitness Assessment with the biokineticists within the Vitality Wellness Network. The biokineticist will be able to confirm that you are pregnant and your HealthyGear cash back will be increased once we have received the assessment from the biokineticist. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. And the fight continues!!
  11. You are not the only one. Apparently a lot of people affected. I phoned them AGAIN today as I logged a query in March as my Healthy Gear % is still 15 and not 25. Get told they can't escalate it as the person has already escalated it multiple times. How does that help me?? And I still wait for my smoothie voucher from 2 weeks ago....
  12. I got the email telling me all about it and don't meet the criteria. I would participate now that as am 34 weeks pregnant so in 6 weeks time should lose a whole bunch of weight. However it is a mission as you need to go for official weigh ins which I don't see myself bothering to do.
  13. They should have rather prioritized fixing all the current bugs in their system than creating a new website !!!!! 4 months and still known Vitality rewards issues not fixed.
  14. Search for the Slow Coach Group on facebook and let her join them. The most patient bunch of people who are happy to ride at the pace of the slowest person and offer lots of encouragement. Koeberg definitely the best for newbies. Bloemendal's B-Spot is a great way to get used to singletrack, ride round there a few times. Then if you feel like a nice day out, head to Oak Valley. Besides the few bridges which can be walked, the singletrack is fairly gentle.and its a beautiful place.
  15. I got the shoe booster cash back (although only 15% instead of the 25% I am supposed to get, another bug in their system). Just checked and I haven't received my Gym booster for the last 2 months... sigh. I am so tired of my weekly phone call to them.
  16. At least the seller made the effort to sms you to tell you it had been sold. You can't expect the seller to run around finding out postage costs and also then take the cost of the postage on himself as an additional risk especially when the majority of the buyers are willing to either pick up, or arrange for the courier to pick the item up at their own cost.
  17. To answer your question about Hoogekraal and Conties... I would first do Hoogekraal, its got lots of uphill and downhill switchbacks, but nothing too tight that will scare the living daylights out of her. Contermans also has both uphill and downhill. However the Cheeky corners switchbacks are a step up from Hoogekraal as they are tighter and steeper that Hoogies and might scare her rather than give her confidence. I would also avoid Firehut for a switchback newbie if it's anything like it was before the fire especially the top section. Never Ending is great option. The Sani switchbacks are not that technical, most if I remember correctly are as smooth as a baby's bum. As long as she is comfortable on singletrack she should be fine. Good luck for Sani !!!
  18. Interesting, I also bought in Feb and got cash back in March (although it was the incorrect amount).
  19. I am still waiting for them to refund me R600 - they triple charged me for the shoe booster activation on the 24th Feb. I am also waiting for them to fix my percentage cash back from 15% to 25% and pay me the difference (if you are pregnant you don't have to do the fitness test, just need to tell them at the vitality check you are pregnant in order to qualify for the full 25%). I am also waiting for my 2 rewards from last week that I didn't get (issue with double up points for pregnancy which has been there for months and still not fixed). sigh... it seems like a constant fight at the moment.
  20. My son wants to know why there isn't a kiddy version of the Levo !!!
  21. Don't let my dad hear you say that "a ride who has moved on in years can no longer make it up the climbs". He kicks a lot of youngsters butts and he only started cycling at 60!
  22. I didn't like the idea of them, but after my OH got one and I see the fun he is having on it because he is able to get to the top of the trails and actually have energy left to enjoy the downhills, I have been converted. He is loving mountain biking again and is super keen to get out and ride instead of just sitting on the couch. It is great for mates / partners where the one is super fit and the other not as they can ride together. You still have to pedal so its not like its a free ride to the top, it just makes it a little easier. If it was lighter to pick up, I would seriously consider getting one myself. Could have so much fun at places like Jonkers, Welvanpas etc where I just don't have the fitness to ride all the trails I want in a day. However there is no way I could lift one onto my roofracks.
  23. Strange question, but does anyone know if it will work to blend baby food, or does it blend too fine?
  24. Well, the kids need to learn how to use a tablet so at least this way they get some exercise at the same time. however, I would have the screen powered by the pedaling so if they stop pedaling it goes off :-)
