  1. That great, if she can do that I definitely want one. Now just gotta wait patiently for the next order. The mens tops are normally way too big for me up top and then too tight around my hips :-(
  2. Looks fantastic! Question though, how does it fit? I'd really like to order a shirt, but I'm concerned that being a mens shirt it won't fit me nicely.

    Kids mtb

My friends 10 year old son got a Specialized Hotrock 24" bike for Xmas as he was struggling up hills. He still has plenty room to grow on the bike. Have a look at the bike, its really nice! http://www.specialized-sa.co.za/contentbike.php?range=181&PHPSESSID=a65c543ac29e2df371e90ee9194ca3ed
  4. I've also got them on both my road and my mtb and am very happy! They don't break. When I first bought one the shop assistant stood on it to prove how flexible they are.
  5. 3 friends of mine have the Specialized Rockhopper and they are all very happy with their bikes. I rode one the other day on some singletrack (the owner wanted to try the dual suspension I was riding) and was quite impressed.
  6. Which arena do you play at?? I got laughed at yesterday when I went cycling cause I've got a swollen calf muscle with a huge bruise thanks to my batting partner.
  7. Here is where I get to make you all jealous. This is my last week of maternity leave so my dad took a day off and the two of us went to Jonkershoek. Got there just after 9. There were only two other guys there so we had the single track all to ourselves. After the rain yesterday everything smelt fresh (although a bit too fresh in the beginning, it was bloody cold) and the tracks were awesome. I don't think you can get a more perfect day to be out mountain biking.
  8. I use Enduren and find it works pretty well and isn't too expensive. It also doesn't have any colouring or other additives and is gluten free which means it doesn't affect my sinus. Any sports drinks with colourant gives me lots of phlegm which is the last thing you need on a ride. Only down side is the taste at the beginning of a ride, I find it gets better as I go along.
  9. Damn, and all I seem to find is the fencing and weighlifting. I somehow keep missing the Equine disciplines and the diving. I went far in both as a kid so am very keen to watch them.
  10. At the moment only a road bike Have to wait till the end of September before I get my new MTB. At the moment I'm begging, borrowing and am close to stealing!
  11. I haven't had the chance to attempt riding it as there are always people walking who don't get out the way or guys that have come down.
  12. He has been advised by the Specialized guys NOT to ride the Epic frame because of his size and weight (its made for racing) and rather ride a stumpjumper. If you don't want to listen then its just your tough luck.
  13. if they can survive riding the Epic together, marriage should be easy.
  14. Those trucks are scary especially for females as we generally tend to be lighter and get blown around a little more. Well done for being her knight in shining armour this morning.
  15. I know people who have had problems with their Acers and they always have to go to Jhb to be fixed (although not a problem for you). I've had a LG for 2 years now and I love it. I've recently installed Windows Vista and its running beautifully.
  16. I almost hit two cyclists on a circle the other day because they were too lazy to stop and look before joining the circle. I wanted to get out my car and punch some sense into the idiots!!!
  17. If someone gave me this baby, then I would consider! And I don't like pink !!!
  18. Knysna Cycle Tour and other up country races also count for Argus seeding!
  19. I think I still have a spare ladies saddle at home, not sure if you would need one??! It might be a bit hard for someone starting out, but is a nice saddle and has hardly been used as I got a whole new bike shortly after buying it.
  20. I know of someone who is very good. He even got a fantastic write up in one of the motor bike magazines. I can check with him this weekend if he would be interested in doing a bicycle and give you his details on Monday if he can help you out.

    MTB vs Road

I've got both and am thinking of selling my road bike and upgrading my mountain bike. I only really use my road bike for the big road races, but my baby gets used almost every weekend.
  22. low blood pressure also causes headaches, although normally in combination with being light headed especially when standing up to quickly. For me headaches are normally one of 5 things, low blood pressure, sinus, dehydration, heat or pms.
  23. I've found its the road between the N1 and Stellies that people have plenty of space to cycle on the shoulder, but yet still insist on taking up half the road. Damn irritating. And the amount of people I saw yesterday without helmets is scary both on and off-road.
  24. If I had a mtb trail that started close to my house I don't think I'd ever ride my road bike. Road bike is a lot more convinient as I can wake up and be out riding in 15 minutes.
  25. racman, I have no doubt that I can do the 65km, but being 5 months pregnant I'm attempting to behave and not push myself, easier said than done though. I think its a good enough excuse to do the shorter route :-)
