    A Sub 3 Argus?

I did a 2:57 from E in 2011. Nothing is impossible. There was one or two sub 3's from a later group if memory serves me correct.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

Decent training and enjoy the day. Don't buy into the hype of the 'Argus' - it's just another race (group ride with equally strong riders). It'll keep the nerves down and save your energy for the ride.
  4. LOL! I read it somewhere in the thread........ gonna ride in from home so that I can get some decent mileage in beforehand
  5. RED CARD! (as this is bias to all the guys who don't eat, and enjoy their food) Guess this'll force me to do the Cobra
  6. Well, looks like I am in. 9am start is a little late but I am sure I can do a ride in and get you guys at the castle parking lot
  7. That was CPT Meyham on the DH rig
  8. Thanks - last time I checked the link they only had 2 photos....... now I see there are 5. Saw 2 under unidentified images now too
  9. No I didn't - where do I see it?
  10. Say that you may have someone interested and if they would leave the bike with you until that person is able to come look. Then call the cops. If they do not want to do that, take their description and maybe ask their contact details for your 'client' to contact them directly.
  11. It's a Thule Ride-on....... but either will work fine.
  12. LOL! That was a smile (more like a grimace) for the camera. After that it was back to grunting and grinding at the pedals. My legs were screaming at me and I had to dig deep when the ladies attacked up that climb after Klapmuts. I just hung on but guess the rest used the downhill after the climb to catch up again.
  13. Well, going up Helz, they were setting the pace - I passed them at the barrier on the left and just sat with them (I think - didn't look back really). On the road towards Paarl and Wellington they sat in the bunch, just chilling. The top 3 did some work on the way back, but not a lot - more about keeping on the front and staying safe. It was on the return leg that they started attacking on the climbs - power to weight ratio came into play.
  14. To put it correctly, there are enough wekkers just that they are too lazy to do anything
  15. you pretty much sit slip at the back and then, when the time is right, you launch forward using the other riders' draft to gain speed - you end up flying past the front guy and they don't have a chance to latch on....... exactly what the winner of the % bunch did.
  16. It was on the R44 on the hill after Windmeul (over the flat and down the other side). I went to the front on the decent for a while and pulled a little gap - about 10m, but then one of the strong riders on the front pulled the bunch towards us - was just before one of the ladies attacked.
  17. LOL! I wear a EU48 sidi shoes (somewhere between 13 and 14) but have my weight down to 92Kg's from 108Kg's 3 years ago (1.95m tall). I got my shoes straight from ASG as none of the local bike shops stock my shoe size.
  18. Also, you don't get a glove tan...... edit: now that I know who you are / what you look like - why didn't you push a little harder. We had a lekke 4 man break at one point.
  19. Got me thanks! Bottom of first page's upload and top of 2nd page's upload...... lemmie know if you have more.
  20. I think if given the chance, those 3 ladies would give some guys in the $ bunch a run for their money....... high power to weight ratio.
  21. PM BigJ_WP (think I got his name right) - he is quite the tall guy (taller than me at 1.95m). If your back is getting sore, it may just be the bike setup and not the bike itself. Also, I suffer from back ache from time to time - weak core. "It's not about all the bike" Hope you come right.
  22. hehe! I was just happy I was still strong enough to be there - after a bad Burger route recce 2 weeks before.
  23. Well then you would have noticed quite a few times that I was on the front....... even in the 4 man attempted break just after Windmeul on the R44. My legs were dead at the end - with a quad cramp just as I crossed the mats. wrt the finish line sprint, as someone said in a PM a while back, it's race tactics (I bitched in the race thread that he wheel sucked the whole way just to contest the sprint in the end). Pisses me off but not much I can do about it. At least I can say I worked for my time. In the PPA alphabet soup, it's finish time that counts, in league, position (irrespective of time). That's just how the cookie crumbles. That is why the front guys tried to keep the tempo high - dropped the weaker wheel suckers.
  24. I have a rematch - he who pulls lowest wins......... you know what I am referring to
  25. Check it out though - in 'All' results you are ahead of me but in the % group only results, I am ahead of you....... must be an age before beauty thing
