  1. Thanks turtlek! u dont know where I can get 140mm RT97 rotors?
  2. Will those rotors work on ultimates?
  3. I am building set of wheels on CRC with new XTR hubs but I have Avid juicy ultimates! with 6bolt rotors
  4. Is there some kind of adaptor that allows a 6-bolt rotor to fit on a XTR splined hub?
  5. I only use Maxxis Crossmark NON-tubeless and then makes them tubeless. It requires a strong compressor or bomb, but works fine after that. Its half the price and I have never had a cut or any problems. You just have to fill the tyre once a month with about 50ml of slime.
  6. I think Polar pays all companies to keep that 2354 battery out of SA. I would also like to buy a few. Perhaps a hubber must import it for us all
  7. Good wheels; Just dont like how spokes are attached to rim -- prone to damages due to rocks - happened to friend of mine; Also to heavy
  8. I Have had a Selle Italia SLR - much to hard, then the Fizik Gobi - still to hard after 50km. Now has a WTB Rocket V - best I have ever had. After 70km race, you can go another 50km. Just works so well for me.
  9. wipe your chain that were in parafien for an hour all over the grass this really works! As Bling as new! martelpypie2008-08-06 07:05:00
  10. Twister are excellent for cross-country riding. Many of the top riders in the world swear by them.as you can shift gears instantly when faced with short hills after a downhill ie. Can also handle muddy conditions well and maintenance of gears is just about non-existent.
  11. He he he he . Ek praat van baba's wat dit nie kan doen nie.
  12. Only 393 of 572 entrants finished the 66km. Must have been a very tough race by SA standards! This race was only 66km. The worlds marathon champs is usually about 120km and takes about 4hrs to complete for the best riders. Is this not the reason why we have so few men really excelling at the worlds, by having such a short distance for our SA champs race? Perhaps we should start with a "super marathon" race at our SA's that is about 120km, and that is compulsory for riders wanting to compete at world championships? You can then still have a 66km for "poefters" that cant sit in the saddle for to long!
  13. try http://www.pcimports.co.nz/displayProduct.php?productType=energyDynamics there is a new updated version 4 now available of Octane
  14. A friend of mine has the 104 , 4 bolt MTB Race Face Deus XC crankset and need new rings. Wants to know if a 48t 104 4 bolt chainrings are available? Do you have to use 36t in the middle then? What small ring is req? He also uses his MTB for the Argus every year and allways run out of gears. Though this may help. PLS HELP martelpypie2008-08-03 05:53:51
  15. Where can I download a route profile of the 42km and 66km of this coming weekends SA's MTB race in Stellenbosch? Pls help
  16. The new Manitou R7 MRD only weighs 1.25kg. I have one and its a fantastic fork. Has rescued my butt a few times when other forks would have bottomed out. It has a variable lockout function that gets stiffer the more you turn the dial. Will not get anything else. Will buy it again if i need another fork. Buy now!
  17. Thx for encouragement. The worst to me is that you are probably at your fittest level in a long time, and then these things should happen on a single track that is as straight as the N1 to Cape Town with one small branch of a tree sticking out. Next week if my knee is ok, I will start slowly on the trainer. Did that 4 yrs ago when I fractured on the other side after attempting a downhill on a XC course that will give Gregg M a smile.
  18. Twizza MTB race in Queenstown on Sunday. Pedal got stuck behind a branch of a tree that was cut off at 30km/h and landed on rocks, about 3km from the end. I also crashed about 4 yrs ago and broke some ribs and tore muscles in shoulder then. Its just a pain in the butt.
  19. You wake up the next morning. Cant get out of bed because ribs are cracked or fractured; Knees are painfull; Wrist sprained. You are buggered. Pop a few pain tablets and life goes on. After few days you are bored because the bike is gathering dust and you know that you cant ride. You want to get right ASAP because your next favourite race is just a few weeks away. Anybody else that has gone through this lately? martelpypie2008-07-21 06:08:53
  20. Cant find details. Pls give me a link
  21. A friend of mine is willing to give me his ticket. Should I at some stage decide that I am not going to do the 2009 Epic for what whatever reason, can I then transfer it to a third party? Pls help?
  22. I have two friends with the Anthem 1 and they love it.The 1 chap weighs over 100kg and the suspension still works beautifully
  23. Look at Giant anthem 1; Its +- 11.9kg and +- R16k
  24. Thx I know but it is apparently 42km.
  25. I am quite upset with the organisers of this years SA mtb half marathon race in Stellenbosch in August. They have for some unknown reasons, excluded the sub-junior category (u14) although these riders can take part at all the other national half-marathons currently in SA. In the past there has always been an u14 sub-junior title as well as an u16 Youth title for half marathons in SA. We need to encourage youngster to ride and not exclude them from major races. If the distance is to far, then make it 35km but don't just change the rules of half marathons. I will agree that u12 is perhaps to young, but at the Road SA's , these same u14's, had to do more than 50km the other day. At the Eric v Enter 2 weeks ago it was 60km. Come on, catch a wake-up!!
