  2. I use my Sigma Evo X Pro about 5 times a week during the winter. Its works great and I will not swop it for anything else. The other day a small rubber at the back of the light, where the cable attaches securely, came lose and got lost. I could not get that small rubber at the local Supplier in SA, so I e-mailed Sigma in Germany. Seven days later this piece of rubber arrived in my post from Germany, free of charge. Thats now service! Thanks Sigma!!
  3. The important issue here is to have a regular prostate checkup, when you approach 35yrs. What I mentioned earlier, is not cancer but rather an inflammation or swelling of the prostate that can lead to a chronic condition if not checked out and treated. This condition is symptom free and you will not know about it, until it becomes a real problem or is detected by a urologist during a routine checkup. Any urologists on this website that know more about it?
  4. I colleague of mine that is also in the medical field, asked me to tell all male cyclists about a problem that urologists are finding more common among male cyclists. They are seeing more and more males with enlarged prostates due to cycling. Usually with an enlarged prostate, you may also experience urinary problems, but this is not the case in this instance. The problem is totally reversible with treatments such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and rest. The moral of the story, is that you have to have yourself checked out by a urologist on a regular basis. Are there any of you out there, with similar problems?
  5. I prefer using the Eclipse or DT swiss rim strips as it just covers the spokes, and you can replace the valve when req to do so. Have been using it for 3 yrs now, with no problems as its easy to replace tires
  6. I have the Sigma Mirage Evo pro 5 +10watt; When I ride next to my friend at night with his X8 switched on, you cant even see his light as mine just "drown" his light completely. The new Sigma lights are even better;
  7. Has anybody tried the Conti Mountain King 2.2" (MK) non-tubeless tyres on a rim with a tubeless kit on it? Does it work? Is the side wall not to thin? Should one rather use wire bead version. I want an extra "light tyre". I see Mr Kevin E ride them - does he use UST MK tyre or normal one ,made tubeless? Pls help before I buy and try
  8. You may have been riding for a few years now, but it seems that you are not really getting faster and stronger on the MTB. How do you improve from a "Joe Average" to a top 5 -10 finisher in your age category. Any secret training programs/methods that you want to share with us?
  9. Look at the Kona Hei hei Supreme dual frame. The frame with shock weighs only about 2kg's and is a XC dualie frame with only 2.5" travel at the back
  10. Who is going to the SA's and what are you doing - TT and main race?
  11. I heard there is a XC provincial on Sunday in PE??
  12. I have also just upgraded my u14 son's racing bike with 50x16. Must still roll it in. Hope it will!
  13. How do one set up time trial bars?
  14. I have a Manitou R7 80 Elite Absolute and it is the best fork I have ever had. Its extremely light and is not as flexy as you may think. The dial on the right has about 6 clicks and it allows you to make it stiffer with every click you turn it, until it locks out completely. I will not go for anything else, even if you give me a Sid or Fox for free.
  15. For very muddy conditions, the Bontrager Mud X- size 1.85 - 2.1 is best in the world according to the British mtb magazines.
  16. How Much
  17. martelpypie

    Hudz

Anyone know where I can get white Hudz
  18. What is the best mud tyre for cross-country riding? Should you use a narrow or wide tyre? (a narrow tyre has more clearance between tyre and frame) V-brakes is a no-no in mud; Only use disc brakes - but the downside is they don't last long before you have to replace pads.
  19. Has anybody else got this dual suspension? I imported this bike frame in December from Chain Rxn cycles; Skandium frame; 2.5" rear susp; Pure cross country bike; Completely build up - only 10.5kg; Best dualie I have ridden
  20. AS light as possible +- 9.5kg Carbon frame Tubeless wheels ie Mavic SLR or equiv Light fork ie Manitou MRD with 80mm travel at 1.2kg and little flex Definitely SRAM 0 grip shifters - all the best riders in the world will tell you that it is the fastest shifters for XC; You can go from 1 st gear to 9th gear is 1 sec and is less affected by mud +- R30k
  21. Hi I am Intrested in a Oakley Radar White Chrome Blue iridium Any Reviews? How are they?
  22. Have you changed the battery in both the sensor and speedo? My Delphi did same thing and is now sorted out. I also moved the speedo a bit forward.
  23. I bought the Delphi 6 through chain reaction cycles website 3 months ago. Its brilliant. Even gives you the % incline, lap times, altitude, height climbed, cadence, has a backlight for when it is dark, heart rate etc etc. Only thing it does not have, is the temp or when you should wake up in the morning
  24. I have used Maxiss Mimo's 1.9 non-tubeless tyres with a wirebead on tubeless rims for about 2,5 yrs now. The tyres weigh about 400g each, making the wheels very light. Its a very fast tyre but you have to be careful over rocks as it can cut, and you can also damage the rim with such as narrow tyre. My 2 boys do XC and half marathons and they love them. Genuine tubeless tyres are probably the best but they weigh on average about 750-900g per tyre, and also cost about R300 more per tyre. I dont think its worth it. We are currently testing the Maxiss Crossmark non-tubeless with a wire bead and its definitely a good tyre, little bit heavy, attracts mud like magnet, but fast with little resistance on hard gravel roads. Johan B, keep it up and keep on posting your comments. Tyres generally cut when you take chances or do not concentrate when riding, or if you ride at the wrong pressure. I know of many of my friends that have also cut their sidewalls of brand new UST tubeless tyres. It can happen to any one. I love tubeless and will convince any one to use it.
