For value for money I would have to second the Blackburn. If it allowed for transferring data onto a computer, then I would definitely have bought one. Due to the lack of this feature I ended up getting a Polar CS200 and I'm very chuffed with it. But the Polar would be overkill for you if you already have the heart rate monitor.
  2. There's also Cycle Lab SuperCycling club. They have rides for all levels of MTB'ers on Saturdays including a beginners clinic at MTN Cycle Park. There's also a lot of perks with this club. Check it out should you be interested. Charvel2009-04-09 12:26:49
  3. For really awesome service I would definitely recommend Summit Cycles! There are a lot of hubbers on here who will back me up on this!!!
  4. We also forget that a lot of the time the high prices come from the manufacturers themselves and they just pass this on to the shops who need to also put their bit of markup on top of this. Can someone in the industry maybe explain if the actual costs of developing and manufacturing bikes are really so high?
  5. I don't think you are the culprit. It seems that the virus attaches itself to GIF's and tries to activate when loaded. I think your avatar might have been at the wrong place at the wrong time
  6. I also got it on the poll about Earth Hour tonight. It seems to be in EigerSA's avatar as well.
  7. Yup, got it a few times again tonight...3 times on this thread actually!!!
  8. It's called negotiations a.k.a bribery and corruption! My finance minister now has a new phone and some new attire and the capital expenditure regarding a so-called "bike necessity" has gone "unnoticed"
  9. Wel, hulle is darem quick-release en is van die beste "tubeless design" op die mark
  10. Ek het twee kruiwa wiele as hy wil h?
  11. I just got myself the Polar CS200cad! Can't wait to try it out! Thanks for all the help guys. My next post might just be "How do you properly set up your Polar CS200 with cadence?"
  12. That is without the cadence sensor. That is for the normal CS200. I see there is a CS200cad which includes the cadence sensor, but this is not advertised in their brochure.
  13. Thanks for the replies already! Another thing though...cadence. What would the reason and benefit be to monitor cadence?
  14. I am in the market for a cycling computer that can also do HR, and if possible, cadence. I'm currently looking at and seriously considering the Polar CS200. I've seen there's another model around called the CS200cad which includes the cadence pod (but I suspect that the CS200cad is not being sold anymore). I can get the Polar CS200 for R1,795-00, but I would like to know if there is another cycling computer with HR that you would recommend that would be better value for money in the same price range?

  16. Thanks for the input guys...I appreciate it
  17. I've decided to take the plunge and convert to tubeless... I am currently looking at the following 2 tyres: 1. Maxxis CrossMark UST (for front and rear) 2.1 Continental ProTection Explorer (front) 2.2 Continental ProTection Vapor (rear) I have heard some very good things about both, but would like to gauge what you guys think with regards to these two sets Thanks
  18. I'm looking at buying my first clipless pedal and saw this pedal which can be used with or without cleats. I was wondering if anyone have had any experience with this pedal and if you would recommend buying this as a first clipless pedal?
  19. Thanks EB! Yeah, I'm also pleasantly surprised with the response from the guys on this forum. I picked up the bike yesterday afternoon and I haven't even had a chance to ride it yet!!! Talk about frustrating since I will only be able to ride it Sunday afternoon for the first time! But come Sunday afternoon...
  20. Your mate isn't by any chance called Jacques? But otherwise I'm glad to hear of a fellow biker in that area though!
  21. Do you stay in the Nigel / Heidelberg area, scotty?
  22. Sorry scotty, not this weekend. I've got to help the wife pack for our move to Heidelberg in April...
  23. Well, I thought it would be less strenuous on the bike if I just kept riding it around our complex...but alas. You guys are more than welcome to join me for my maiden voyage in the open...in Heidelberg.
  24. Well, I might no grow taller...maybe I'll grow wider
