  1. Top of Black Hill turn right and off you go to the dam on top of Simonstown 25km or so , tough lot of sand, cool if you in the Fish Hoek area

    Anyone know the winning time?
  3. Purple Extreme, must apply the previous day and wipe of excess, the key is really the night before bit with any lube.
  4. I have one on all my bikes. Top up the pressure on the wheels after playing in the Mooontan for the haul home on the tar.

  6. Snakeskin Racing Ralphs are the biz , running mine as low as 1.4bar never had a hassle 2.25 wide. Stay away from the 2.00 non snake skins , will not be able to run them below 1.8 bar , otherwise they will come off the rim.Width of tyre is very important when it comes to sand and the difference between 2.00 and 2.25 is huge in sandy conditions In my opinion the Crossmarks are a solid choice , bit on the heavy side though.2.1 wide. Have no experience with th
  7. Agree 100% , saw them again yesterday in Tokai , a really skilled bunch of guys .

  9. Stay away from harsh chemical type paint removers , most of them contain caustic which will stuff up the molecular structure of the epoxy. Blasting the frame will pit the carbon and possibly make it a bit fluffy as the individual strands are being broken. Guys there is no quick fix or short cut here . Start with 120 grit and work your way down to either 400 or 600 . Acetone will only degrease the frame which is a great idea just prior to painting not a solution for paint removal. R3SL at FRAMEWORX
  10. Any takers for my RED gruppo ,I am going to put 8 speed Sora on my Cervelo R5 as its "THE SAME" might as well change the wheels too. DUMBASS withe a huge capital D.
  11. Several good points guys, R100-00 for an event is fine but what gets me going is the minute an event is a Cycletour seeding event they double the entry automatically.Knowing very well that they will get a good turn out, Buggers.
  12. Head up, head down , the fact remains another cyclist has been killed by a bloody Taxi, the problem being" what we can really do about it to make a REAL difference" that benefit all of us , 3 months ago I was in a similar position being struck by a Taxi just turning in front of me " I didnt see u , was the reply , was doing about 40km/hr, fortunately only cost me a frame"not my life" The Taxi driver could not have given a toss.I think the armbands and like are really great and noble but it is not going to change a thing to our situation as cyclists on SA roads.Possibly well organised mass protest rides, its time for a active stance not a passive one.
