  1. Pleasure mate ,let me know if you ome right.R3SL.
  2. Hi Mate listen to Procrates he is 100% CORRECT ,JUST OVERLAP BY THE VALVE WITH THE RIM TAPE AND THEN THE INSULATION TAPE.THEN MAKE A NEAT HOLE FOR THE VALVE THROUGH TAPEjUST USE AN OLD PRESTA VALVE ,WORKS BETTER IF YOU CAN REMOVE THE INNER SECTION OF THE VLVE TO CLEAN AS THEY GET CLOGGED UP. IF ITS A NON UST TYRE WIPE OUT THE TYRE WITH METHS TO REMOVE THE RELEASE AGENT FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TYRE ( THIS IS TRANSFERRED FROM WHEN THE TYRE WAS MADE)YOU NEED THE STANS SEALANT TO COAT THE INSIDE OF A NON UST TYRE AS OPPOSED TO MERELY FIX PUNCTURES.THERE IS NO REASON WHY A TUBELESS CONVERSION SHOULD COST MORE THAN R75-00 EXCLUDING THE STANS SEALANT WHICH IS AROUND R150-00.THE OTHER PROBLEM WITH RUBBER STRIPS IS THEY OFTEN CAUSE A HOP IN THE WHEEL,AND CHANGING TYRES IS A REAL BITCH. HAVE FUN- R3SL.PS NON UST TYRES YOU NORMALLY NEED TO HIT WITH A BOMB AS OPPOSED TO BATTLING WITH A FLOOR PUMP.THEN SPIN THE WHEEL LIKE MAD.
  3. Easy question, FORCE is the way to go, firstly its not fair on Shamano to compare it to Ultegra,I been riding Force for about a year now and will not go back. The only negative is that it is a bit more noisy than Shamano ,much lighter and faster through the gears, and the sprint function is awesome. In my opinion Rival would compare more to Ultgra, As for RED, well lets just say Shamano is still working on an answer. The same would apply to XX versus DA its not a comparison.XO is the equivalent to DA and again Shamano is working on an answer. 4. Guys unfortunately the industry rips the ring out of it on a daily basis. Example new set of wheel bearings (6) inclues the free body ,bike shop quoted R900-00 excl labour. I bought the spanners downloaded the bearing sizes from the net relavent to my wheels, phoned the bearing shop and paid R60 for 6 bearings ,the spanners were an extra R180. Now I ask you who is being shafted , R10 per bearing versus R150 for the same thing.Reply if you want the bearing numbers but they are all around 10-15 bucks each. The same applies for the pivot point bearings on the dual suspension frames. A rather ticked off : R3SL

A Merida TFS will probably cost you up to R1000-00,and its a fairly light frame. R3SL

  14. R3SL

    quick advice

Good Solid advise from the guys, besides if you build high end it normally works out a lot cheaper,if you buy carefully,it also gives you the oppertunity to build up your tools and you also end up doing all your own maintenance which saves again. This also means you dont have to go back to the bike shop again and again with the same old problem. Most bike shops mechanics are good but are working under to much pressure which results in mistakes and problems. R3SL
