  2. that thing is fubard tho theres no way I was 2nd fastest on the day thru CP1. And its missing a lot of the top finishers
  3. I have only one question - where can I buy one. This the perfect way for my girlfriend to come riding with me, without me having to really slow down, and without her having to feel like she's dying just to get up a small hill.
  4. my campy record is about the same age and still going strong
  5. ummm no... they tag you when you enter the chute to make sure you're in the right start group. They only start the time from when your group ACTUALLY starts
  6. B was first group. I was 2nd group
  7. Then your mates would have had same hassles so it's the same difference? Why moan about back markers I was seeded c (no racing for 2 yrs) and finished 20th overall on 60km. I made sure I passed everyone I needed to pass early on
  8. Yus that mud was ***. Had to stop at a water point and wash my chain
  9. Started in c group due to not racing for 2 yrs. Rode 3h05 or so. Was super fun
  10. Anyone got their seeding yet?
  11. how about a link to his youtube profile?
  12. on the one hand we have bikes being hijacked on hels, and on the other bikes falling off cars?

  14. theres the simplicity factor as well. Less things to break and go wrong

  16. if the route is same as 2012, then heres all the info http://www.strava.com/activities/15030529
  17. The deviations of the EGM96 geoid from the WGS 84 reference ellipsoid range from about −105 m to about +85 m and The GPS receiver does need to know the shape of the Earth too, since it's not exactly spherical, but there is a standard geoid model used for that. It's not exact though which is why altitude information isn't considered as accurate for GPS as position and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altimeter Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers can also determine altitude by trilateration with four or more satellites. In aircraft, altitude determined using autonomous GPS is not precise or accurate enough to supersede the pressure altimeter without using some method of augmentation. In hiking and climbing, it is not uncommon to find that the altitude measured by GPS is off by as much as 400 feet depending on satellite orientation
  18. There's no way a satellite can determine how far it is from your device. The satellite doesn't even know about your device.
  19. Source? Except for topographical mapping there's no way the satellite can know your height asl
  20. i sent you a pm earlier
  21. yeah david george was super quick on his raleigh
  22. theoretically you could get an approximation of altitude via topography + GPS position. Do you have any idea how much space you would need on the garmin to store all that topo info? And then to top it off, its not even really very accurate, so your elevation will be way off at end of the ride. Just reset your barometer once a week and it should solve most of the issues
  23. you better let nasa know that their GPS satellites can calculate elevation... theres a reason your bike computer has a barometer in it
