  1. Thanks guys, that is a great help. I'll try it tomorrow.
  2. I need to buy some mtb shoes (size 49, which is massive!). Can anyone tell me which shop in Johannesburg/Sandton area which shop has a great range of mtb shoes for me to have a look at? Many thanks.
  3. Thanks AndreZA. So the way I see it, you leave the traditional spruit, if you're riding from north to south, at Linden Road and pretty much follow the Montgomery spruit. Is that right?
  4. I've done the Braamfontein spruit route a number of times now. I keep hearing about Albert's Farm as an additional add-on. I've looked at the Gauteng street guide and asked around, but for the life of me, I can't get a clear route of exactly where to enter it from Emmerentia Dam/Jan van Riebeek Park and what to do when I get there. I suppose you need to get onto Beyers Naude and ride north. But what then? Also, how long is theis addition if you do a loop going back to Emmerentia Dam. I'd appreciate any help here.
  5. I've heard about these, done a Google and can't find where they retail in Gauteng. Can you help?
  6. Cheers.
  7. I'm also keen to do it for the Tour de Tuli. How long should I plan for to get me there from Sandton?
  8. Apologies. I was under the impression that you're talking about the route from the middle of Hekpoort, which is essentially a petrol station and then riding a loop through Breedt's Nek.Is this a different route? I followed the directions described in http://www.alloutmtb.co.za/content/breedtsnek-mtb-trail-hekpoort.
  9. I did it on Saturday, well half of it! I went for 25.06km from the petrol station(which is exactly on top of the nek), turned around and went back, which made it almost exactly 50km. My Garmin read an ascent total of 468km. Very few cars and, for me, a good training ride. Recommended.
  10. I couldn't agree with you more. They are really great guys as well.
  11. Their number is 010 224 0316 (yes, the area code is correct). Speak to Sue. Weight Weenie, I may be wrong, but I think Sulu and the distributor are one and the same.
  12. I eventually found the distibutor by phoning a rack shop in Knysna as there is not a shop in Joburg who could give me the contact details (try do a Google-nothing). They are based in Midrand and when I got there they were extremely helpful, efficient, friendly and cheap. But let me make this very clear-the fact that I had to do this research and bust my balls to drive to the other end of the world is clearly unacceptable by any standards. Sulu-I do know what I'm talking about. After all I own a Buzzrack. Your view may be that Cajees suck and I'm inclined to agree with you, but the fact was that I was inconvenienced by the whole matter. You seem to think that it is only the retailer at fault here which is just silly and I don't think it really merits further debate.
  13. I've got a Bussrack and simply cannot get parts. The clamps that hold the bike in place don't work and I need them repaired/replaced. I bought the Buzzrack from Cajees and they are unable to tell me where to get it fixed! I strongly recommend that you stay well away from Buzzrack.
  14. I have exactly the same problem. I hope you get some useful responses. When I asked around, I was told that it really is cycling fitness and that it would eventually improve as I got stronger. I don't know if I buy this though.
  15. I am really happy with the quality and ease of use of Polar. What really sucks is that it is not compatible with Apple. If you have an Apple, you have to consider another HRM imo.
  16. I have had the Polar for 4 months and have already turfed the GPS. If there is cloud cover, or even in shady areas, the GPS loses the satellite. Its highly frustrating and I now just rely on a standard Cateye for distance. It does have a very good HRM. The fact that it isn't compatible with Mac should be a deal breaker for Apple fans.
