  1. Congrats!!! 😃 Glad to hear it isn't just me. They never recorded a time for my son(50km), when this was queried with them the incorrect time and placing was recorded. This was eventually corrected after looking at video footage. The age categories are incorrect. In my son's case, he is a 13yr old - therefore u/15 as per the CSA handbook(this is a CSA sanctioned race) but they have him racing in the u/16 category. There is no under 16 category. Radio silence from Bouttime when I have queried this with them - ie no response to multiple emails. I do concede that Bouttime seem to know what they're doing ito MTB, trail running, tri , motorcycle racing - I'm not knocking their knowledge overall, however I am concerned about our experience in the road race.
  2. Anybody else experience challenges with timing in road race?
  3. I'm proud of the way that CSA handled this. Give credit where credit is due. Thoughts are with those impacted by SNB's actions.
  4. I'm clueless to be honest:-). If I can hear my podcasts them I'm happy. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  5. Had mine for about 4 months. No issues with them so far. Happy. Bought mine at Sportsman's Warehouse.

  7. Completely agree that courtesy is non-negotiable for all parties concerned.
  8. It really isn't that difficult for a provider, of any sort, to respond to emails. I don't have a dog in this fight but it does bug me when emails go unanswered. Yes, the OP could phone the provider, but he has elected to use one of the communication methods offered to him by the supplier. The OP has also learned a valuable lesson, don't vent on the hub unless you want to get crucified. Just my 2c.
  9. This is me. I'm a "completer" not a "competor" (sp)...It's exactly my reasoning behind wanting to use them.
  10. Second time "being selfish" with them has come up. Point noted 😄! Thanks for the input @Jewbacca.
  11. Thanks @Shebeen and @dave303e, appreciate your thoughts. Great points regarding the glove thingies - I hadn't thought about what happens if you loose one mid race. Noted re adjustment as well, just one more thing to fail. I'll have a closer look at the Black Diamond range. Thanks again.
  12. Howzit all, Any recommendations on value-for-money trekking/trail running poles. Looking specifically for 3-piece Z-frame models (edit)..and adjustable length. Any advice/recommendations ito of what features to look out for/avoid, carbon vs alu, weight, folding size etc ? I like the look of Leki (see below) but I'm pretty open to all suggestions. Black Series FX Carbon (leki.co.za) Cross Trail Lite TA (leki.co.za) Cheers and thanks
  13. Happy shoe hunting. There is nothing I love more!! Asics Trabuco Max 2 - great reviews, great midsole, AsicsGrip is fantastic. Very high midsole stack height and from my experience not the most stable on technical terrain. Hoka Speedgoat 5 - my road to trail shoe. Pretty uninspiring to be honest. Merrell Long Sky 2 - low stack height, fast shoes with 5mm Vibram Megagrip outsole. Love them for shorter runs. Excellent ground feel. Nnormal Tomir - my “go-to” trail shoe. Very comfortable, they look to be extremely durable, the best outsole grip of any shoe I have used. Firm midsole but responsive with good ground feel(no rock plate). Expensive but I think they will outlast my feet! Don’t discount the Merrell Agility Peak 5s on your search. Very underrated shoe brand. Cheers
