  1. Lekker, eks seker jy's baie excited. Post die pics as jy hom kry!
  2. Oh, yes, found some suitable bars too.
  3. These bits are off to the powder coaters tomorrow. Edit: Spelling
  4. Fenders sprayed, matt black out os a rattle can, many thin coats on top of grey primer. Also did the fork legs, they are "cast iron" metallic.
  5. Mine was a lumo pink and white Petini.
  6. Also around that time, 87, 88, 89. Ride Eric van Enter in Cape Town and Potchefstroom.
  7. One of the guys I used to race school boys with had one just like this, used to drool over it. A few of the guys had really nice bikes, racing U15 and Juveniles. A few Alan's, Vitus', Dales and even a Kestrel.
  8. Not much progress this weekend. Front fender mounting is sorted, though I now need to fill holes, as I'm no longer using the support stays. Decided to spray a lot of the bits myself, rather than powder coating, so have been stripping paint. Also am in 2 minds about frame color, was going to go matt black, but now considering candy apple red...
  9. Chopped the fender for the front, now the fenders can go for painting.
  10. Nope, board racer look. The stance is right at the moment, need to just trim the tops off where they're protruding through the top clamp.
  11. It rolls! Happy to report that everything on the fork lines up, wheel is centered and straight, need to chop the legs a little shorter.
  12. Fork-ends welded, still a small bit of fabrication to do, and then paint!
  13. ESI grips work well. You need to cut them a bit shorter, and if you trim the end caps, they fit too. Can't seem to load the pic.
  14. Will have to bring beer, check out your build and raid your parts bin! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  15. Edit: double post
  16. Is it black? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  17. Looking good, going to fun ride from the beacon! Pity you're going to have to keep stopping to wait for your riding buddies to catch up... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  18. Ok, maybe I should refresh before commenting...
  19. Not something you'll be riding around on the back wheel no, that front end is heavy! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  20. The fork ends have been laser cut out of 4mm plate. Problem is, because the triple clamps are off a motorbike, they are wider than I want. Was looking to cut some plate to build spacers, but this would be a hack. Then remembered, rear axles are wider than fronts, and fit the gap perfectly. So, rear axle in the front hub and all should be peachy. Tomorrow, I weld the fork ends. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  21. Test fitted on the frame.
  22. It's starting to look like a fork.
  23. Ok, maybe I should just put out a wanted ad for a black square taper crankset... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  24. Cool, thanks, only have some cranks and the triple clamps to do, so should be fine, it's not a whole frame! Will give them a shout in the am. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  25. So, finally, progress is made. Been standing still for a while, I ordered Chromo for the forks, when it arrived, it was sold to someone else. They then ordered more, that arrived but ended up being 1.6mm too big, there's so little give in the clamps. Today found some pipe that, though a little heavy, will do the trick. Also got the chain guard bent. So, a little fabrication required, then the mock up (so that I can modify the fenders before painting) and then it's off to powder coat and paint. Anyone know who does anodizing in the Joburg area?
