Hubbers There were a crash just before one enter the stadium in the AL bunch. Peter Elliot went down hard . . . Cracked scull with bleeding , broken color-bone , broken sholder blade , 9 broken ribs , punctured lung. He is currently in Netcare Union Alberton. He is in serious pain and has no recollection what happen besides than someone rode into him from behind . . . I had a punciture whle in the AL - short lived 3 man break . . . before carnival and by the time I came past Peter he was helped into an Ambo. Great race ,I felt good but after seeing Peter . . . I sometimes wonder why I / we get so eager close to the end . . . My prayers are with Peter for a super recovery (joshua 1 : 9) and freinds please lets be safe on the roads ! ( Ps - hope the link works)

It was 30 km in . . . i had to get on the gravel to miss the "action" I do not know of a crash at the finish . . I was in sprint with no issues besides running out of juice just before the line and got pipped .(got the second spot)

It was ugly ! That carbon crashing sound not nice . . . My guess it was touch of wheels ? Hope all okay ?

On my charity loop i found it humerous to see a couple bouth walking with their e-bikes (flat batt) on the last hill/bump before summer rd. In future there will most pobably be charging stations for the e-bikes

Hey , that was fun ! Game plan = AL , Have fun , smile, enjoy , play . . . until I "explode" // bonk , I finally ran out of energy on that hans strydom hill . . . mountain. Like MVDP , my legs switched off and saw the front bunch disappear and then the second bunch came past never to be seen again. . . To be on the bike with a smile and happy heart in a race is so much enjoyable , even the twizza at the end taste lekker ! There are some "gentleman" in the group whom really would benefit for happy cycling . . . Be Blessed !

Saw some guys fixing potholes between avianto and bidon yesterday . . . also some propper orange markings with spray paint . . . Looking forward and trustingly I have the legs to stay with A at lease to sterkies . . . I will however "pull" my weight / do my part. . . I will be sporting our new Bionic kit ! ( "Game plan" to work in front at Maropeng . . . ... . . . ... only ) I will be the one with smiles . . . I ride my bike because i LIKE it ! Please kindly keep attitudes at home on Saturday

HI , I went over swartberg pass on my mtb on Monday from Kobus se gat to Prins Albert, The wind was gusting at the top and the flattish part of the decent ( where you turn to Die Hell ) after top to the hairpins are rutted otherwise looking good . . . disclaimer - in my opinion . . . Have fun and be blessed !

WOW , What a awesome Race . . . ride . . . I had a severe bad patch between 128 km and 152 km to WP 5. I had thoughts of every possible excuse to quit . . . At WP 5 there were a festive vibe and great people and even a young farmer's boy ( Henko ) lubed my chain , got me a coffee . . . I spent quite a while at this water point "gathering" myself which surely got the mindset right and off I went. I registered temps of 3 degrees just before sunrise to WP8 and after CP3 up to 36 degrees. Sho , the last stretch was testing and with the heat of the day I made many stops and spent time at the last 2 water points - finally came in at 16:37 PM ( jumped in the pool , took a shower and went to bed by 17:30) Took the bike out yesterday and rode the Swartberg pass - that is beautiful and the wind were howling. The gravel roads looks mostly good as tand the Grand Fondo would be interesting this weekend . . . Good luck to all participating . . . I will not . . . Be Blessed !

Lists are made , packing will happen on Monday morning but first the MalutiDouble90 this weekend with the club . Cant wait ! looking forward to the clean kleinkaroo air . . .

I was in the camo grey with red stripe REPS kit , Came to the front on ventersdorp rd and stayed there abouts till the group started to split in the cradle at rhino and lion park after the panda kit oke decided to ride off the front.

had good fun in AL , after last weeks "wheelsucker" tread , I did actually went to the front and worked in the group behind break away . . . while having fun . . . see you all at Ride for Sight !
