  1. Ahhh I see. "its cause I'm fat!"
  2. Don't do it rouxtjie. we have seen how they self destruct.
  3. haha how did i get dragged in to this one?
  4. a little "Spray n Cook" works a charm. my wife is always kaking on me cause the can is in the garage. haha.
  5. very nice but consider taking a link out of your chain. will look better and you will have better chain wrap.
  6. if you do go that route make sure you get the WIDE ratio derailer. there are two types Wide ratio = is up to 36t Close ratio = is up to 24t The one in copperheads post is the right one to get.
  7. the only "issue" (doesn't bother me) with the Zee derailer and i assume most short cage derailers is you are limited to a max of 36t at the back. So if you wanting to use one of those new converters that gives you 40t-42t you may need to go with a Sram type 2 or XT shadow+, medium cage derailer.
  8. Says Mr 5am Watt lab.
  9. haha No worries. I thought the same thing until i did a little research and if you think about it, it make sense. 1x has less range of gears (i.e Less movement) so a shorter cage would be better as it will pick up the slack faster.
  10. Excuse the dirty bike. Did a sneaky ride yesterday. the paint chips on the rear stay is from before the Zee derailer. No chain slap now. Smallest 11t Biggest 36t
  11. with a 1x setup shorter is better.
  12. Ideally you want as short a cage as possible. if you have a long cage derailer that may be the issue. Try a medium or even better a short cage derailer.
  13. Boom there you go problem solved. thanx Bogus.
  14. With Bennie on this one. Confront your LBS
  15. this is for SHIMANO BBs NOT GXP
  16. I haven't bought a new (Shimano) BB in three years. Now all I do is not out the bearings. Head off to local BMG and get two 6805 bearing. Cost around R80 each. The bonus is they are sealed on both sides unlike the standard bearings that are sealed on only one side. Pop the new bearings into the deep freeze for 20 min. Pop the CLEAN BB cups in some hot water. Bearing slip into cups no issue and then fit back onto my bike. 2000km no worries.
  17. cable and/or housing issue. clean or even better replace cable and housing.
  18. definitely wouldn't be hitting the speeds down dagga pad that I do without them.
  19. Zee derailer all the way. Short cage, can handle a 36t and the benefit of a clutch. 800km of rough terrain, normal 36t zee chainring, no chain keeper and not one chain drop.
  20. Definitely my LBS. Jacques is a great guy. Always willing to help out.
  21. Come on mike it's not that bad.
