  1. I'll check with our club in Cape Town. I'm sure they will welcome you to the ride. I'll get you some details later today...
  2. Sub 3... I wish.. Luckily we didn't yet cancel our accomodation so we are still sorted but thnx for the offer Mariechen.
  3. Picked up the stuff last night. 4 x Thule 530 Freeride carries. 1 x Thule roofrack system. The feet are wrong though but will try and get the right ones today. All for the price of R200 bucks...
  4. Just some feedback. Company has decided the following: I will be allowed to go to the Argus. I would however need to spend some time in the Cape Town using my 3G to do work but we are trying to settle all the difficulties before I leave. If they urgently need my assistance they will fly me back to Jozi to come and assist. Wife's happy, I'm happy, Boss is happy... Sabre4842009-02-12 00:43:03
  5. I know... I am very fortunate..But I must admit, this is one of those trips that I really look forward to. Some good wine, nice ride around the mountain..But it is still not nice...Sabre4842009-02-11 07:41:22
  6. It is for a different car but have already got the new feet.. Three sleds for the bikes plus roofrack for......R200 Bucks... So all in all it is going to cost me less than R1500. Nothing wrong with the Renault. Fun, Comfortable, light on fuel. Cant exactly fit three bikes on the other new car..Mini Cooper S. That is just the toy.
  7. Most of the time it is two. But going down to Knysna or the Argus(That is if my idiotic company will let me go) it'll be three bikes. Problems is long trips require al sorts of things to go into the car. You know what families are like..
  8. Problem is that we want to use the new Car on longer trips with the cycling. It is a Renault GT and the exhaust pipes comes out in the middle of the car so no towbar option. Is it relatively stable at speeds of 120 km?
  9. Hi I have been offered a roofrack system (THULE) which can carry 3 bikes. I have before travelled with the rack mounted on the towbar and found that it greatly affects fuel consumption etc. Any feelings on what the pro's and con's are of such a system, besides that you have to remember there is a bicycle stuck on top of the roof of your car???
  10. Ek was nie op die ride nie. Het eers jou post gesien na die tyd. Ek het gewik en geweeg daai oggend om te gaan ry. Ons ouens sou julle darem nie net daar gelos het nie. Hulle probeer altyd help
  11. Oom Hendrik, ek het gedink jy bou paaie, nie geweet dat jy die Minister van transport is nie..Of was nie.. Spyt ek het jou nie ontmoet by die Club100 ride waar julle die wiel gebreek het nie.
  12. My approach is as follows... Pay for bike and me/wife to get to Capetown. Pay back deposit on accomodation. OR I stay and do the work, be all grumpy for a couple of months.. GET BIG BONUS after deal completed..Like that will happen
  13. If I also got the financial gain out of this, It would not have been so bad. They are all smiling, I'm crying
  14. Guess someone has to pay for the CEO's new porsche
  15. So I get this little note. Your assistance is crucial to the successful completion of the current deal. Dates required 5th March to 15th March. WTF???? Dear Boss, I need to do the Argus, I can't be at the offices for that period of time.... Reply from Boss, It is only a cycle race, sure they will have another one.. Now the fight begins..
  16. Shweeeeeeeeettttt
  17. Little bit of duct tape and it should be as good as new
  18. Mostly hear it when in the sitting position... and not when just cruising. It is when I'm really working hard. Mostly on uphills as well.
  19. Where are all the clever people today?
  20. I have the following very annoying problem on my bike. I start cycling, everything is fine, once the bearings have heated up.. About 10 km's into the ride there is a clicking sound that starts on the non chainring side of the crank. Now I originally thought that it is my cleat that is worn and causing the sound. I have decided to swop the two cleats around to see if the sound moves over to the righthand side but it is still there. It makes a distinctive click when the crank arm is in the 11 o'clock position on the way down on the stroke. I have checked that the crank arms are fastened properly. How do I determine if the BB is faulty or the pedal? I do not want this to break while riding. Problem is that this only happens when if have done a few Km's and when the LBS checks it it doesn't do it.. Please help!!!
