  6. Don’t know how true this one is ladies & gents but better to be safe than sorry Please read the following mail received by a friend and forwarded to you: It all started when I received a call from someone claiming that he was from my mobile service provider and he asked me to shutdown my phone for 2 hours for 3G update to take place. As I was rushing for a meeting, I did not question and shutdown my cell phone. After 45 minutes I felt very suspicious since the caller did not even introduce his name. I quickly turned on my cell phone and I received several calls from my family members and the others were from the number that had called me earlier - 0773954380. I called my parents and I was shocked that they sounded very worried asking me whether I am safe. My parents told me that they had received a call from someone claiming that they had me with them and asking for money to let me free. The call was so real and my parents even heard 'my voice' crying out loud asking for help. My parent was at the bank waiting for next call to proceed for money transfer. I told my parents that I am safe and asked them to lodge a police report. Right after that I received another call from the guy asking me to shutdown my cell phone for another 1 hour which I refused to do and hung up. They keep calling my cell phone until the battery had run down. I myself lodged a police report and I was informed by the officer that there were many such scams reported. MOST of the cases reported that the victim had already transferred the money! And it is impossible to get back the money. Be careful as this kind of scam might happened to any of us!!! Those guys are so professional and very convincing during calls. If you are asked to shut down your cell phone for updates by the service provider, ASK AROUND! Your family or friends might receive the same call. Be Safe and Stay Alert! Please pass around to your family and friends!

  10. Ive always use Greg LeMond's formula (Saddle height = inseem x 0.665). Always worked for me. Just my 2c
  11. typical response from a known **** stirrer
  12. my ultimate favourite (hair on back of my neck standing up) question "why are you selling?" FFS, do you actually think someone selling an item is going to reply "because it's crap" to a question as dumb as that...
  13. Agree 100% dirt-rider.... too many "experts" around here who go out of their way to post **** on one's sale.
  14. steel is much more forgiving compared to carbon. I am no expert but I ride carbon, titanium as well as steel and carbon (albeit very light and stiff) is my least favourite. it boils down to personal preference at the end of the day I suppose.
  15. I agree 100% with your statement regarding making sure about sizing but also must say that a good steel bike will give a far more comfortable ride over any carbon bike on any given day.
  16. for what its worth, price drive is steeper than kloofnek and vissershok

  20. Speak to the KCNC agent... he imports the genuine EDGE composite range of kit and has a kickass light pair of EDGE carbon deepsection clinchers which weigh in under 1300 grams. I have seen and felt them myself and they are pretty (expensive too) just my 2c
  21. last saturday i was cycling through st.james past muizenberg and there was this asshole walking along in my direction and when i passed him he decided to run alongside me trying to keep up. I gave him a (BEK-SKOOT) and that sorted him out. Wasn't going to take a chance being a victim.....

  24. Wipperman Connex makes two snap links. a 6,2mm one and a 6.05mm one. Bigger one for older Campagnolo 10s chains, marked 'c10' Smaller one for the newer 2006 10s Campagnolo chains...marked 'R', 'C' or 'V'...Record, Chorus or Veloce. The smaller link 'may' be referred to as the 'shimano' link, but will work for the Campag chain, since shimano 10s and Campag 10s chains are now both 5.9mm in width
